Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15 reviewBobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15

Bobbi Brown recently launched their new Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15- it comes in 30 shades, ideal for normal to oily skin. I matched myself with the shade Warm Honey 5.5 which is a very good match for my tan skin with warm golden undertones. The foundation is packaged in a sturdy matte glass bottle with a pump dispenser. According to the brand, it's a full coverage foundation that has a natural matte finish, 16-hour formula that's waterproof, sweat and humidity resistant. The consistency feels like a gel/moisturizer, it's lightweight, very blendable and it has a buildable coverage. I personally prefer sheer to medium coverage foundations cause I really love the skin-like, breathable, featherweight finish. If you're like me you'll truly enjoy this foundation, it's such a great option for everyday looks.

I have large pores, textured skin, redness around my nose and cheeks. The foundation didn't fully cover all my imperfections, so I had to do some spot concealing. This foundation doesn't emphasize on fine lines and it doesn't oxidize. Although I have very oily t-zone I do have some dry patches on my cheeks. So if you have dry skin I would recommend using a hydrating primer, prior to the foundation application. I like to use the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Moisturizer, it keeps my makeup looking flawless all day long. I also like to use Tom Ford foundation brush or Sigma Flat Top Kabuki brush to apply the foundation, it spreads and buffs out the product seamlessly. One of the ingredients listed on the foundation is Shea Butter and that might be an issue for some but it didn't cause any breakout or irritate my skin.

Here are a few other foundations in comparison to the BB skin long-wear foundation. If you're an NC 40-42 in Mac foundation then Warm Honey 5.5 shade would be a good match for you.

Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15 SwatchesBobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15

I primed my face with Derma e Youth Serum and BB Vitamin Enriched Face Base Moisturizer.  For my brows I used Anastasia Brow Pomade in Dark Brown, on my eyes I used two eyeshadows from Viseart Neutral matte eyeshadow palette and Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara. To cover up my dark circles and spot conceal I used Makeupforever Ultra HD Concealer. On my cheeks, I used Givenchy Healthy Glow Bronzer (review here) to warm up my skin and for the highlighter, I used Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector. I only set the t-zone area with my favorite Lancome Dual Matte Powder. On my lips, I used NYX Natural lipliner and topped it off with Cle De Peau Radiant Liquid Rouge 11.

I tested this foundation various ways and I didn't experience any creasing, caking or fading. I would also like to point out how well this foundation photographs this photo was taken with flash and as you can see there are no weird flashbacks. BB Skin Long-Wear Weightless foundation lasted all day long! I had it on for about 12 hours and I only touched up once, I'm truly impressed with the longevity.

Final Verdict:
I really like the natural velvety matte finish of this foundation but it might not be for everyone. In spite of the brand claiming the foundation to be a full coverage finish, I would have to disagree. However, I highly recommend this foundation to those with combination-oily skin or anyone who loves a sheer to medium coverage finish. I think this will be my go-to summer foundation cause it does a fantastic job of oil control. I would like to also commend the brand for being inclusive and launching 30 shades, so fear not cause there's a shade for everyone!

Tried & Tested: Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Sun Touched & The Lip Balm

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Sun Touched Review
Kjaer Weis
Cream Blush in Sun Touched ($56 for 0.123 fl. oz)
Lip Balm ($50 for 0.13 fl. oz)
Where to purchase: Net-a-porter, Kjaer Weis, Barneys, Beautylish

Kjaer Weis was founded by Kristen Kjaer Weis, who's a Newyork based makeup artist, she worked around the world for some of the most renowned fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire. As an in-demand makeup artist, Kirsten found that people were sacrificing the health of their skin by using irritating, synthetic makeup. The natural products, however, were not up to par in performance, and the luxury of the beauty experience was lost. Kirsten used her experience growing up in a natural environment and her knowledge of beauty to pursue uncharted territory in the industry, creating Kjaer Weis - a pioneer in organic, luxury beauty.

Kjaer Weis is leading the movement with high-performing, luxury makeup that is, as everything should be, organic and sustainable. Every batch of makeup has been inspected by hand and remains free of parabens, silicones, petrochemical emulsifiers and synthetic fragrances. Made in Italy, almost all of their products have been Certified Natural or Certified Organic by the stringent standards of the country’s certification body, the Controllo e Certificazione Prodotti Biologici.

I love discovering new brands so when I was asked to test out a few Kjaer Weis Products I was more than happy to do so. Today I'm going to review the KW Sun Touched cream blush and The Lip Balm. This brand screams luxury from the elegant packaging to the products itself. Kjaer Weis line contains foundations, eyeshadows, cream blushes, cream bronzers, highlighters, lipsticks, lip balm and lip tints. Everything in the line comes in a refillable pan which comes in paper cartons.

Kjaer Weis the lip balm review
Kjaer Weis The Lip Balm

The Lip Balm is one of their newest product it is housed in a beautiful black, sleek heavy metal compact. This new KW Lip Balm is part of their Black collection- which is a new category for unisex products for every day, every moment and everybody. This is a lightweight, hydrating, nourishing lip balm that has ingredients such as:

Brazilian Nut Oil- Deeply hydrates without heaviness or stickiness. Nutrients like zinc, omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E work to ease distressed, dry skin.

Sunflower Seed- A high fatty-acid and Vitamin E content keeps skin protected from environmental stressors while firming and tightening its appearance.

Rosehip oil- It has smoothing anti-aging effects it softens and smoothes dry, flaky lips.

Chamomile-This antioxidant powerhouse delivers rich, emollient moisture. Soothes the skin and diminishes redness with anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties.

I love the texture of the balm it's not sticky or greasy It feels like I have nothing on my lips. I love using this under matte lipsticks it keeps my lips soft and hydrated throughout the day. It also has the finest shimmer it's not chunky glitter just a beautiful lustrous finish. Its petroleum, paraben free, not tested on animals and it's gluten-free.

Kjaer Weis Sun Touched Cream Blush Review
Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Sun Touched

KW Sun Touched cream blush is a beautiful warm peachy coral shade and it's great for medium-dark skin with neutral or golden undertones. The blush comes in a heavy metal architectural design compact and the cover slides open to reveal the pan. The consistency is very creamy, lightweight and it's highly pigmented so you only need a few dots on the apple of your cheeks for a youthful, glowy sun-kissed look. I like to use my fingers to apply the blush the warmth of my fingers helps melt the product which helps blend out the blush seamlessly. The texture has some tackiness to it without it being too sticky. My cheeks are very dry and I find this cream blush extremely hydrating and it doesn't cling to any dry patches. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this blush performed. I usually have trouble with cream blushes fading midday, however, this is very long lasting it wore for 8-9 hours before it started fading. Here are some of the key ingredients:

Jojoba Seed Oil- Adds moisture to the skin.

Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil- Excellent tissue regeneration properties; fights signs of aging.

Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract- Antioxidant; works as a natural preservative.

Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl Review & Swatches

Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl Review
Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl
0.21 oz for 30.00
Where to purchase: Sephora, Barneys, Neiman

Product Info:
Under the artistic direction of Nicolas Degennes, Givenchy has created Gloss Interdit Vinyl, a gloss with medium coverage for high-shine, naturally-voluminous-looking lips. Shiny and luminous to the extreme, this formula offers a magnetic and sensual result. Thanks to the black rose oil in the formula, lips remain soft and supple with an absolute feeling of comfort. The foam end of this innovative applicator is stamped with a G to take up more product for a pleasant, even spread of color over the lips. G for Givenchy, G for Glossy, G for Glamour—Gloss Interdit Vinyl signs a new way of applying lip gloss. At once simple and precise, it sheathes the lips in dazzling color with a single stroke, making it a must-have for beauty addicts everywhere.

Givenchy recently launched some amazing new products their newest addition is the Gloss Interdit Vinyl. There are a total of twelve shades and Givenchy was kind of enough to send me three shades for review purpose. As usual, Givenchy did a phenomenal job with the packaging these glosses are housed in a sleek tube with a doe foot applicator that has the most intricate G stamped. Despite the beautifully stamped applicator, I did find it a bit hard to work with. It's hard to contour the lips perfectly since the applicator doesn't pick up the product evenly so, I have to be more careful with the application. The texture is amazing it's non-sticky, no bleeding and it feels very comfortable on the lips, it also has a high shine. The coverage is sheer to medium with one swipe you get a sheer wash of color or you can apply a few coats for an opaque finish. All three shades have beautiful shimmer however, it's undetectable once applied to the lips, with the exception of Rouge Thiller. There is also a strong fragrance although, It doesn't linger on I can see this being an issue for some who are sensitive to strong fragrances. One other thing I noticed there's an odd taste to the gloss I can only describe it as being soapy and I'm not a big fan of that.

Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl 12 Rouge Thriller Review
Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl

12 Rouge Thriller- a warm undertone red that has a lustrous finish. This is highly pigmented and I love how plumped my lips look with this gloss. It lasted about 4-5 hours before it started fading and it did leave a light stain behind.

09 Crazy In Rose- a milky pastel pink shade, this is a great option if you're not into bold, bright colors. This shade is not as pigmented as Rouge Thriller but with two coats you can achieve an medium coverage. This shade lasted about 3-4 hours before it started fading and it left a light pale pink stain behind.

16 Noir Revelateur- this is made-to-measure color booster that reacts to skin’s pH for a result that is totally different from one woman to another. Noir Révélateur is an audacious shade that enhances the natural tone of lips with an enigmatic depth. I love this shade its such a unique gloss that looks dark in the tube, however, once applied it turns into a beautiful light berry shade on the lips. It's a very wearable shade, you can wear it alone or apply it over any lipstick or lipliner to intensify its color. It lasted 4-5 hours before it started fading and it left a pretty pink stain behind.

Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl
Final Verdict:
I'm not a big fan of glosses but lately, I do find myself reaching for glosses more instead of liquid lipsticks. I think it has to do with the weather being so cold and drying and these glosses are surprisingly very hydrating. The Givenchy glosses have been on rotate for the past few weeks, I absolutely love the formula it's not tacky, it's beautifully pigmented and the shades are very easy to wear. These spectacular shimmering shades of Givenchy Gloss Interdit Vinyl have the options for both neutral or bold lipgloss lovers. If I had to pick one shade I would say my favorite shade is Rouge Thriller, it performed the best out of all three and I think this red gloss will flatter all skintone.

Review: CLE DE PEAU BEAUTÉ THE FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 21 SUNSCREEN

CLE DE PEAU BEAUTÉ THE FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 21 SUNSCREEN
Cle De Peau Beaute
The Foundation
Broad Spectrum SPF 21 Sunscreen
27 ml for $250

Product Info
An ultra-luxurious, buildable sheer-to-medium coverage foundation that blurs imperfections leaving skin perfectly even-toned, luminous and cashmere to the touch. Developed from unprecedented skincare science, this lightweight foundation contains radiance-boosting exclusive Illuminating Complex EX which moisturizes, rejuvenates, retexturizes and visibly repairs environmental skin damage for smoothing radiant coverage.

CLE DE PEAU BEAUTÉ THE FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 21 SUNSCREEN
Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation

I'm finally back with the review of Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation sounds fancy right? Well, it's definitely one of the most luxurious foundations in the market with a price tag of $250. The Foundation is housed in a sturdy lucite glass jar it also comes with a beautiful coaster that holds a little gold spatula. I think we can all agree the packaging is jaw-dropping but it is not the best travel-friendly packaging. I would have to scoop some out in a sample jar if I want to bring this along with me when I travel. There are 12 shades and I was matched with the shade O50 Deep Ochre, which is the second to last darkest shade and it's a pretty good match for me. I have swatches of all the shades here. The texture of the foundation is bouncy, feels like a gel/moisturizer, it blends into the skin seamlessly and it doesn't cling to any dry patches. The coverage is buildable but you can sheer it out by mixing the foundation with your moisturizer/primer or you can apply two layers for a full coverage finish. I was told it's best to apply this foundation with your fingers but I'm not a big fan of that so I just use my favorite Sigma Flat Top Kabuki brush to apply the product. The Foundation feels very light-weight, hydrating, comfortable on the skin and it has a semi-matte finish. I have combination oily skin so I like to prime my skin prior to applying any foundation. I wanted to maintain the same routine while testing out this product and I loved the healthy glow I achieved with The Foundation. I have pigmentation around my mouth, sun spots, large pores, and textured skin. The foundation covered my imperfections without settling into any fine lines. I did have to use a concealer under my eyes cause those bags and dark circles need extra coverage. My t-zone is extremely oily so I can never get away without setting my foundation. Once I set the foundation, I only have to touch up no more than once or twice throughout the day. I've been wearing this foundation nonstop it doesn't get cakey or oxidize and it lasts all day long!

CLE DE PEAU BEAUTÉ THE FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 21 SUNSCREEN

I have primed my skin with a serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, Estee Lauder Priming Moisture Balm and Benefit Porefessional primer (only on my t-zone).

CLE DE PEAU BEAUTÉ THE FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 21 SUNSCREEN

I applied one layer of the foundation like I usually do and here's the finished result. As you can see It did a great job at covering up my pigmentation, sunspots and it evened out my skin tone. I used Wander Beauty Dual concealer (review here) and to set the concealer I used Laura Mercier Translucent powder. I set the foundation with Lancome Dual-Finish Powder (only on my t-zone), warmed up the skin with Givenchy Healthy Glow Bronzer (review here), on my cheeks I have on Kjaer Weis Sun Touched cream blush and for the highlighter, I used Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal.

Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation

I wanted to compare a few other foundation shades so you can get an idea. Although CDP O50 isn't very warm it's a great match for me during winter. I will probably have to switch to O60 during summer. My Mac shade reference is NC42 so if you're darker than NC42-44, unfortunately, you won't be able to find a match. The limited shade range is the only con I can think of other than the costly price tag. Hopefully, Cle De Peau will extend the shade range in the future that way everyone can enjoy this beautiful foundation.

CLE DE PEAU BEAUTÉ THE FOUNDATION BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 21 SUNSCREEN
Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation

Final Verdict:
The brand claims this foundation has anti-aging properties which help "diminish the appearance of damage caused by dryness and bring visible improvement to skin". I can't vouch for that but I do love the youthful, radiant glow it provides, I always wanted to obtain the perfect dewy base but having oily skin it was very hard to do so. With this foundation, I was able to attain that subtle glowy base like I've always wanted. So far, I've only tested this foundation during the cooler months and it has performed very well, however, I'm curious to see how it will hold up during summer. I think this will be great for all skin tones, it didn't clog my pores or cause any breakouts. I like so many things about this product I don't have to touch up much, it doesn't settle into my dreadful smile lines, the coverage and the finished result is impeccable.

Now it's time for the big question- Do I recommend this foundation? Absolutely! With that being said, I know this is way too expensive but if you're in the mood to treat yourself with one of the most luxurious beauty product ever, I say go for it! This little jar of the foundation will literally last you forever since a little goes a long with this product and I think this is one foundation I won't be hitting pan on anytime soon. So you're definitely getting your money's worth.
