Stila Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette
Stila Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette was love at first sight If you're a highlighter fan (who isn't? duh) then you should run to the store don't walk! This Star Light, Star Bright highlighter was a part of their 2016 Holiday collection. This palette is housed in a sturdy rectangular plastic compact with a mirror inside along with three stunning shades Bronze, Kitten, and Transcendence. The texture of these highlighters are very soft like butter, lightweight, and it feels bouncy to the touch it's absolutely stunning. It reminds me of the gelee formula it feels wet and creamy, but it's a powder it's quite unique. Although the cream to powder consistency wowed me however the pigmentation wasn't up to par. The shades Bronze and Kitten has great pigmentation, but the shade Transcendence lacked in pigmentation I had to go over it a few times for an opaque finish. All three shades lasted well throughout the day, and it wore for 9 hours before it started fading. And all three shades are medium to buildable coverage, so it's perfect for both daytime and night time looks.
Stila Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette
- Bronze- A sparkly warm copper bronzy shade. It's very metallic and shimmery without the chunky glitters. I think this will look lovely on tan to dark skin tones on my tan skin it looks great gives me a sun-kissed glow but I have to go very light hand when it comes to the application, so it doesn't seem too orangy. This highlighter powder blends seamlessly I use my finger or my favorite Hakuhodo fan brush (featured here) to apply this highlighter.
Stila Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette
- Kitten- This is a stunning rose gold shade one of Stila's most popular shade, and I can see why it's lovely. On my medium tan skin, it shows up neutral not too warm not too cool I love the sheen radiant glow it gives me, but this can be a little dark on lighter skin tones. Also, It can be used as a blush topper which will look stunning! Kitten blended seamlessly it's very airy, and I love using this as an eyeshadow as well such a gorgeous shade this is my favorite out of all three shades.
Stila Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette
- Transcendence- A beautiful cool lilac shade with a bit of glitter which I'm not a big fan of, I don't typically reach for pinkish lilac shades when comes to highlighter. However, this is a fun shade, and I think it will look great on lighter skin tones and since it's not very pigmented you can never go overboard with this it will give you a soft opalescent glow. This powder like the other two blended seamlessly and I love using this on the inner corner of my eyes as a bright pop of color, and it's a great way to add some a subtle color to a neutral look.
Overall
I'm a big fan of Stila Cosmetics I have been using their products for years, and I've seen the quality getting only better with time. I'm very impressed with this palette the formula is outstanding, and the sturdy packaging makes this highlighting palette very travel-friendly. Now, here's the part I don't like this is a Limited Edition palette so if you want this palette then check your nearest Sephora, Ulta or Macy's (still available online) for availability. Also, for those who wants to try just one shade out of these three Stila has got you covered with their new Heaven's Hue highlighter powders. You can purchase these powders in individual compacts it's now available at Sephora, Ulta, and Macy's.
Which do you prefer the individual compacts or the highlighting palette? Please leave a comment below I would love to hear your thoughts.
