Dress- Vince, Shoes- &OtherStories, Bag- Chanel, Sunglass- Bottega Veneta

Rounding up a few white summer dresses today. I recently purchased this Vince wrap dress which inspired me to write this post. I'm including a mix of options with different price ranges, lengths, etc. While I may not be able to purchase all of these gorgeous white dresses, I suppose a little window shopping won't hurt, will it?

February-Beauty-Favorites

Today I'm featuring 8 products that I've reached for the most during February. I've been using retinol religiously for the past few months, and during the peeling and drying phase, I kept my beauty routine pretty minimal. I mostly reached for hydrating cream products cause my skin was quite irritated last month. Now, let's begin with my monthly faves!

Laura-Mercier-Tinted-Moisturizer-SPF-30

1- Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer-Blurring

Laura Mercier recently launched their new primers, and my favorite at the moment is Pure Canvas silicone-free Blurring primer*.  I've been an avid fan of their previous primers, and I've used them for years. My favorites are the hydrating and illuminating primers. The new primers are formulated with skin-loving ingredients, and it addresses specific skin concerns. I have very oily t-zone, and this oil-free, oil-absorbing primer helps mattify your skin, minimizes the appearance of pores and a soft-focus effect while extending the wear of makeup. The creamy texture helps the product glide on the skin with ease. I would say this is an ideal primer for oily skin.

2- Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30

I've been on a tinted moisturizer kick lately! I was so happy to be reunited with one of my favorite tinted moisturizers- Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Spf 30*. The reformulated tinted moisturizer is available in 20 shades- I use the shade 4w1 Tawny. It has a creamy consistency, I love the sheer to light coverage with a dewy finish, and it does a pretty good job at covering redness on my cheeks and some acne old scars, It also doesn't cling to any dry patches or get cakey. I like to use my fingers to apply the product it gives a beautiful natural skin-like finish. It has great staying power, however, if you have oily skin I definitely recommend finishing off with a setting powder. This is the perfect base product for the no-makeup, makeup look.

3- Sisley Paris Phyto-Touche Sun Glow Bronzing Gel Powder

Sisley Paris Sun Glow Bronzing Gel Powder* gives you a natural, sun-kissed glow. It has a soft, sheer wash of color with a hint of shimmer. The unique finely-milled formula blends seamlessly on the skin. I love to use this for my daytime looks it looks absolutely gorgeous when the light hits on your cheeks. It is a bit pricy, but it's totally worth it!

4- Kjaer Weis Sun Touched Cream Blush

This cream blush converted me into a cream blush lover! Sun Touched is the perfect warm, peachy pink shade, and it's very flattering on my tan skin complexion. It is highly pigmented, and I've been using this blush pretty much every day. I have a full review on this blush here

5- Laura Mercier Caviar Stick

Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks* has been my go-to lately. These are so convenient and easy to apply when you're on-the-go. I love the shade Cocoa, it's the perfect rich chocolaty brown shade. I like to use this as a base, or layer for a soft smokey eye look, or to create a winged liner. It's highly pigmented, long-wearing, crease-resistant, and it's very easy to blend, I like to use my fingers to blend out the product. I also love the shades- Rosegold, Moonlight, Sand Glow, and Burnished Bronze.

Chanel-Rouge-Allure-Ink-168-Serenity

6- Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Lip Colour

I haven't purchased anything from Chanel in a while, but during my birthday I decided to treat myself and I ended up purchasing 168 Serenity Rouge Allure Ink. I noticed this shade instantly amongst all the reds. It's a beautiful mauve rosy shade with a mousse-like texture. The non-drying, lightweight, smooth formula glides on like a gloss but dries down to a velvet-like finish. It's not very long-lasting, which is the only issue I have with the formula, and I also wish there were more nude shades available.
7- Decorte Beauty Rouge Velvet Lipstick

Decorte Beauty, kindly gifted a few of their Rouge Velvet Lipsticks, although the name says velvet,  it has a more silky, satin-like finish. I love the shade BE80- it's a rosy nude shade. It's super-pigmented, hydrating, and long-lasting. It's pretty similar in color to Chanel 168, so depending on my mood, I pretty much rotated between these two lipsticks.

8- Merle Norman Wicked Lash Mascara

This is a new brand to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by this mascara. The Wicked Lash Mascara* has an oversized brush, and it adds volume, lengthens, and it doesn't weigh my lashes down. It also doesn't smudge or flakes, with just two coats, my lashes look full and long. It's definitely a keeper!

Paul & Joe 2019 Autumn Collection

Paul & Joe Beaute, a Japanese brand that does the most adorable packaging and beautifully embossed products. I had the pleasure of previewing their 2019 Autumn Collection a few weeks ago. This collection includes two primers, three Limited Edition CS lipsticks, six Sparkling eye colors, and two powder blushes. They also launched a few whimsical blush compacts and lipstick cases.

Les Vendanges, the wine harvest season in France. Fresh fruity taste. Rich, full body. A hint of spice. Create intoxicating and expressive looks as diverse as the aromas and flavors of beautiful wines in Autumn.

The collection is now available at Amazon

Paul & Joe Pearl Foundation Primer

003 Pinot Noir- contains gold and red pearls to give skin a healthy, flushed glow.
004 Muscadet- contains gold and silver pearls to eliminate redness and discoloration.

The new primers ($36 for 1 fl.oz) are housed in a thick glass bottle which allows you to see the beautiful little pearls. It has a unique blend of light-reflecting pearls. The serum-like consistency glides onto the skin effortlessly, even out tone, and mask imperfections. The non-stick, cooling formula creates the ideal canvas for makeup application. It has a blend of three hyaluronates and three moisturizing botanicals, it provides an intense dose of hydration, and it's perfect for all skin types. Both primers are grape scented, and it's a little too strong for me but, it doesn't linger for long. These Pearl Foundation Primers addresses a variety of skin concerns. For a natural blushing radiance, apply Pinot Noir. To reduce redness and even tone, apply Muscadet
I love the gel-like texture, it gives your skin a subtle healthy glow. The finely milled shimmer won't make you look greasy, it's a perfect way to prep your skin for a dewy base. I like to use these primers only on my cheeks since my t-zone is very oily, I try to avoid any shimmer or glow based products on those areas. I use 1-2 drops, and it instantly hydrates my skin, however, it doesn't blur out my pores or any imperfections. I think I will be reaching for these more during fall and winter when the harsh cold weather makes my skin incredibly dry.

Paul and Joe Sparkling Eye Color Swatches

Paul & Joe Sparkling Eye Color $23- A cream to powder formula that stays put all day long due to key ingredients evaporating upon application. It allows the product to create a flexible layer that firmly adheres to the eye without caking or fall out. It's a gel-based formula and rich concentration of oil.

Cream shadows have been my favorite lately. At first, I wasn't sure of these shadows since they're oil-based but, it glides on the lids with ease. It's highly pigmented with buildable coverage. I'm always scared of blue eyeshadows but 03 Midnight Hour immediately caught my eyes. These shadows can be used on its own, or a sheer wash of color, or as a sparkling topper. I used the neutral shades alone, and despite the shimmering metallic finish, it was still a very wearable everyday look. I like to use my fingers to apply the shadows, and they layer well with each other. I wore them for 5-6 hours and I find they last even longer if I use a base such as Laura Mercier Cocoa Caviar Stick.

Key ingredients:
  • Orange flower extract
  • White lily extract
  • Jojoba seed oil
  • Rosa roxburghii fruit extract
  • Sodium hyaluronate

The Sparkling Eye Colors are now part of their permanent collection.

Paul and Joe Powder Blush review

Paul & Joe Powder Blush ($18) and Compact ($10) these wine-inspired hues feature two complementary shades that can be worn alone for an intense pop of color, or blended if desired. Infused with red and gold pearls, these blushes give skin a radiant, luminous glow with just one swipe.

The floral embossing on the blushes is simply stunning! The blushes are rich in pigmentation, and the silky texture blends evenly. On my tan skin, both blushes give off a pink tint. I love mixing both shades, and I use a large fluffy Real Technique brush to apply these blushes.

There are three limited-edition compacts 022, 023, and 024

Paul and Joe CS Lipstick swatches

Paul & Joe is back with an intoxicating new CS lipstick collection. These lipsticks are customizable, you have to purchase the lipstick cases ($9), and the bullets ($20) separately. As much as I love the cute cases, I do wish they were plastic instead of cardboard. I have tried P&J lipsticks before, and I was quite impressed by the comfortable formula, and high shine finish. These new limited-edition lipsticks are inspired by the wines hues. Formulated with a high concentration of moisturizing ingredients, and oils such as orange flower water and macadamia nut oil. The ultra-creamy texture has buildable coverage, and it's perfect for any occasion. The texture almost feels like a lip balm, it makes your lip look fuller and plumper.

There are three shades available:

118 and 117 have an opaque finish, and it also lasts a little longer than 116 which goes on more sheer. I wore them for 4-5 hours, before having to touch up, and 116 lasted for 1-2 hours before it started fading. I usually shy away from bold lip colors but, due to the sheer finish, Les Vendanges can be worn for day to day looks. They also launched three limited-edition lipstick cases 052- iconic cat and floral motif, 053- a whimsical, yet chic floral design, 054- a cheeky cat print, and Lipstick Case N ($12) in 002 Flamingo Pink.

Overall:

I'm truly impressed with P&J Beaute. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did but, the formula speaks for itself. I love the Sparkling eye colors and the CS Lipsticks. On my eyes, I'm wearing the shades 04 and 05 sparkling eye colors. If you're new to the brand, I would highly recommend their Lipsticks and Sparkling Eye Colors.

As much as I love dressing up, I will always be jeans and tee type of gal. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of previewing American Eagle and Aerie fall collection. AE is launching a new line of curvy jeans and let me tell you they're extremely comfortable! I love the light wash, high waisted denim, with distressed details (77% cotton, 12% modal, and 9% polyester). I wasn't sure if the denim would be stretchy so I went with size 8 but, I could've easily sized down to a 6. The fitting is a little loose but, I don't mind it. I styled it with this gorgeous new Anine Bing tee that I recently hauled and Fendi Zucca bag. This is my very first pre-loved bag, and I'm so happy with my purchase. I've been dying to get my hands on the Zucca bags, and I found the perfect one on Fashionphile

The lipsticks are housed in sleek matte black tubes that fits perfectly inside your bag. The slightly slanted lipstick bullet allows a precise application without any feathering or bleeding. These lipsticks go on very creamy and smooth, but it dries down to a matte finish. They are highly pigmented, hydrating and budge-proof. Unlike some of the other matte formula, these lipsticks won't dry out your lips. I love that these lipsticks are formulated without mineral oil, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and it contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. Final Verdict:

These lipsticks have a unique gel-like formula with a great color payoff. With a single swipe, it will provide a medium to full coverage finish. The only shade that needed a few more swipes was Raisin since it applies a bit sheer I have to use a liner with that shade for an even finish.

I'm someone who prefers a comfort matte or glossy finish over liquid lipsticks so these are right up my alley. As always, I gravitated towards the nudes, mauves and corals and my favorite shades are Nutmeg, Saffron, Spice, Peony, Cinnamon, Petal, Bloom, Strawberry, and Geranium. These are definitely long-wearing lipsticks but not completely transfer proof. It lasted for hours till I had lunch and I only had to touch up once. I would highly recommend you check these out specially if you're planning on shopping during the Sephora sale
