Dr. Dennis Gross is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatological surgeon, his philosophy is to prevent, correct, and protect patients’ skin by creating a personalized treatment plan, specifically for each individual patients’ needs and desires. Dr. Dennis Gross published his first consumer book “Your Future Face: The Customized Plan to Look Younger at Any Age” in 2004, and is a regularly invited guest on Dr. OZ, CNN, The Today Show, The Doctors and CBS: The Early Show. I mean he's the real deal and I personally love his skin care products especially the Alpha Beta Daily Pads. I remember browsing on Sephora and seeing this interesting device. Well, I finally got to try it and I've been using it for the past two weeks. I think this year for me has been a year of preventing fine lines, wrinkles anything that will help my skin look youthful down the line. I'm turning 28 later this year and I've noticed a few faint lines under my eyes and my smile line has set deeper. So, I'm up for anything anti-aging and I was very excited to try the SpectraLite LED device and see what it will do for my eyes. This device comes with a USB cord you can connect it to your laptop and charge it as you work or watch Netflix! I charged mine a week ago and it's still going strong and I was wondering how long the battery lasts and what will happen if it stops working which led me to the Dr. Dennis Gross registration page. It says you must register your device within 30 days of purchase for the warranty to be effective.

The SpectraLite comes with an adjustable strap and the fit is a bit snug but it's not uncomfortable. I use this device during my evening skincare routine on my clean face. You click the little button on the side and you're ready for your three minutes at home treatment! What I've noticed it does get a little warm toward the end of three minutes but it's not uncomfortable. There is no loud noise so you can close your eyes and relax.

Dr. Dennis Gross SpectraLite Eyecare Pro LED Device

I begin with clean dry skin then I use the SpectraLite device for three minutes. Once the device shuts off automatically remove the device, and I immediately follow with an eye cream. Then I continue with the rest of the steps Serums, Night cream, and all that good stuff.

Overall
Since it has been only two weeks of using SpectraLite I haven't noticed a visible result just yet but I'm very curious to see what the result will be like after 10 weeks of use. I did notice ever since I started using this device my under eye area looks well rested and hydrated the next morning. Even though I stay up quite late which is something to take into consideration. The 72 LED lights in SpectraLite penetrates deep into skin to build collagen and elasticity, and firmness. Collagen does take some time to build so with time it will show noticeable results. I will be sure to update you guys after a full 10-12 weeks of use so stay tuned for that.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour Review
Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour

Rimmel London launched 14 new Matte Liquid Lipsticks and today I will be reviewing all 14 shades. I recently had the pleasure of trying out a few lipsticks from their Kate Moss collection which I ended up loving. So I was very curious to see how the liquid lipsticks perform in comparison to the Kate Moss lipsticks. Each tube contains 0.21 fl oz and the lipstick tubes are packaged in triangular shaped tubes with a flat doe foot applicator, which makes the application process very easy. There is a strong fruity chemical scent which I'm not a big fan of but after a few minutes it dissipates. The formula is very creamy, it has a mousse like texture, it's highly pigmented, feels comfortable on the lips, it's long-wearing and it's very easy to apply. I often struggle to achieve that perfectly lined lips with liquid lipsticks since they tend to dry rather quickly. However, this was not the case with the Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Colours. It doesn't dry immediately so it allows you to take time with the application. The fun part about these lipsticks are the shades, there's a shade for everyone there's even a black and a gray shade Rimmels got everyone covered!

  • Latte To Go- a neutral beige.
  • Moca- a warm brown nude. (my favorite)
  • Be My Baby- a light brown nude a lighter version of Moca. I noticed this went on a bit sheer had to apply a few coats for an opaque finish.
  • Blush- a light pink.
  • Pink Blink- a dusty rose.
  • Pink Bliss- a rosy shade with a hint of mauve.
  • Rose & Shine- a bright pink.
  • Heartbeat- a bright fuschia.
  • Plum This Show- a deep plum shade. I had a little issue applying this one it was a bit sheer and patchy.
  • Midnight- a vampy wine shade. This was the same as Plum this show applied patchy and couldn't get an even coat.
  • Fire Starter- a beautiful warm orangy red. This applied seamlessly love this one!
  • Blue Iris- a navy blue. This wasn't patchy but it wasn't the smoothest consistency either.
  • Shadow- a cool toned cement gray.
  • Pitch Black- a black shade. This needed a few coats for an opaque finish.
Overall
Although some shades lacked in performance I have to say overall these lipsticks are quite nice compared to the price point. I noticed the darker shades were difficult to work with but it can be layered with a lip liner to avoid the patchiness and achieve a good color payoff. I didn't find these lipsticks drying but if you're going to wear liquid lipsticks on a daily basis I strongly suggest you exfoliate your lips weekly and apply a hydrating lip balm. What impressed me the most is the longevity of these liquid lipsticks I mean these last all day long! Once it sets you won't have to worry about reapplying that's the beauty of liquid lipsticks in general but these exceeded my expectations.

Now it's time for a little giveaway! I will be giving away 5 shades Moca, Plum This Show, Pink Bliss, Blue Iris, and Fire Starter. Entries will be collected from the Giveaway Widget.
  • Open to the USA only!
  • Must be 18 years old to participate.
  • Submit through the widget.
  • One winner will be selected through the widget and contacted via email on August 17th.
  • Good Luck!

A Simple Guide To Color Correcting

color correcting 101

Social media is filled with many techniques when it comes to makeup applications Color Correcting is one of them. Color Correcting is something that has been done for many years by makeup artists it can be overwhelming at first, but it's not as complicated as it may seem. I know painting your face with colors of the rainbow may appear a bit odd but trust me understanding the color wheel, the application and blending it properly will elevate your foundation routine to a whole new level. If you aren't familiar with the system of color correcting I will try my best to break it down and make it simple and easy so you can incorporate color correcting technique into your everyday looks.
  • Green- It neutralize redness, rosacea, sunburns, and pimples.
  • Purple- It cancels yellow, brightens dullness and sallow undertones.
  • Peach- It cancels blue, covers dark circles, and covers hyperpigmentation.
  • Yellow- It cancels purple/blue undertones and corrects mild redness.
  • Red- It cancels green, corrects dark undereye circles and its great on dark skin tones.
  • Blue- It cancels orange discoloration and brightens fair skin tones.

These are some of the most common ones you'll spot in a palette there are more shades such as orange, pink and so on. Recently I made the mistake of overdoing it on my skincare routine so I had to deal with painful red pimples and now I'm left to deal with the spots. I had a few events during my bad skin phase, so I pulled out a few color correctors in my collection green and peach. I was dealing with redness and pigmentation/acne spots from the breakouts and green, and peach correctors were the perfect solution to my problem.

I have two green correctors that I've been using one from Ipkn which is a corrector with SPF 15, and the other one is by Algenist. Green correctors will cancel out redness in the skin. If you have large red pimples Ipkn green corrector is an excellent choice, it's thicker in consistency, and it provides full coverage. If you have a large area to cover such as rosacea or sunburn use a liquid corrector, in that case, Algenist green corrector will be the perfect option.

I've always been a huge fan of peach/orange correctors cause being a night owl comes with a price. If you have dark undereye circles, then peach/orange correctors is a step you shouldn't skip in your makeup routine! Peach shades cancel the grey-blue hue tones in the dark under eye circles. On light skin tone, the peach shade will correct uneven skintone and on darker skin orange will work the best. The one I'm currently using is the Algenist Apricot Color Correcting Drops, it has a liquid consistency it's very lightweight, and it blends in seamlessly. You can mix this product with your primer, moisturizer or foundation but I prefer using it alone I apply a small amount on the areas I want to correct, and I press it and let it sink in before applying my concealer or foundation.
