La Mer Soleil De La Mer 2018
La Mer 2018 Limited Edition Soleil collection features a gorgeous bronzer, and two shades of Lip & Cheek Glows. I always loved the look of La Mer bronzers from their previous collections, but I never purchased it cause most of them seemed too light for my tan complexion. This year when I saw the bronzer, I immediately fell in love with the embossing and the shades. I told myself if it didn't work for me as a bronzer I can still make it work as a blush.
I was at Barney's, and I couldn't resist myself especially when I heard they only had one left in stock. I ended up buying the bronzer right away, and since the Lip and Cheeks Glows were sold out in store, I came home and placed an order right away. I love all things peachy/coral shades I can't get enough of it! I've purchased this two products back in May, and I've been using the products since then so today I'm going to review both of them.

La Mer Soleil De La Mer 2018
The packaging is very summer appropriate the pearly white, and the reflective rose gold compact is simply stunning. It's got a luxurious feel to it, and it's also very lightweight and travel-friendly.

The Bronzing Powder is infused with nutrient-rich Miracle Broth. The silky pressed powder creates the look of a glimmering sun-kissed glow. The shades blend perfectly to highlight and define the contours of the face. Skin looks radiant with a warm, illuminated glow. This powder has three shades of light tan (bronzer), light pink (blush), and a warm champagne shade (highlighter). The bronzer is almost the same shade as my skin tone, so if you're tan like me, you can make this work however if you're darker than me it would be best to skip this bronzer. The bronzer is not dark enough to contour, but it does add some warmth to the skin. I like to swirl my brush on the bronzer and highlighter shade and focus on my cheekbones, and then I swirl the brush all over the compact and apply it on my cheeks. I love how it looks on my skin it adds the right amount of color for the everyday looks. Up until a few years ago, I was not that into bronzers cause it can be a bit over the top sometimes. I did find a few shades that are flattering on my skin, so now I'm more open to playing with bronzers.
If you like a light wash of color with a radiant glow, you'll really like this one. I think it will look amazing on lighter complexions since the bronzer doesn't have an orange undertone. It has a silky, soft, blendable texture. The bronzer has a lovely scent it reminds me of their hand cream I like the smell since it's not too overpowering.

Surprisingly the Lip & Cheeks Glows was a huge hit it sold out quickly, and it was tough to find both online and in store. There are two shades available 01 Coral Glow and 02 Pink Sands. The blend of glowing pigments suspended in nourishing oil gives skin a quick hint of healthy color. Infused with nourishing Miracle Broth, it adds a sheer, buildable flush of color to lips and cheeks as it visibly refreshes and renews delicate skin. I was very excited to try this, but once I got to play with Coral Glow, I wasn't sure if I really liked it as much as the bronzer. First of all, it looks horrible on my lips it's shows up as a very pale shade of peach. I do like the glossy, creamy texture but I wouldn't want to use it on my lips. It looks gorgeous when swatched on my arms I wish it looked like that on my lips. With that being said, I do like to layer it very lightly on top of cream/stick blushes it adds a healthy glow to my dry cheeks which I can appreciate. If you have oily skin, I'm not sure if that method would work for you. Coral Glow has a refreshing minty scent, and upon licking my lips, I discovered it has a sweet taste which is always very pleasant.
The Lip and Cheek Glows are very sheer so it won't make a great blush it's just a glossy, hydrating balm for the lips and cheeks. I did do a heavy-handed swatch so you can get an idea of the shade. I just can't justify the lip and cheek glows for the price there are much better options out there.

I wanted to compare the La Mer bronzing power to a few of my favorite bronzers. As you can see, for the most part, all the bronzers have that hint of glow and shimmer. That's what I prefer when it comes to bronzer. I'm not a big fan of contouring my face unless it's a traditional party or occasion then I will go to town with my makeup haha! But for every day looks I like a light bronzer that will warm up my complexion and give me a healthy sun-kissed glow.

Final Verdict:
I really like the bronzer so far, I purchased mine a few months ago, and I find myself reaching for it quite often. I'm glad La Mer mixed the blush and highlighter shades with the bronzer if it wasn't for that I don't think I would've purchased it. Because of those two shades, I was able to mix it all together and use it as a bronzer and blush. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a must-have cause Summer is approaching I will get darker, and I doubt I would be able to use this as a bronzer then.
As for the Lip & Cheek Glows if I knew it would be so pale on me I would've skipped it entirely. I think it depends on the person if you're someone who loves a sheer and glossy finish you'd like the glows. For me, it's certainly a miss, but since I purchased it and used it, I will have to try my best to make it work and get my money's worth.

Hello, hope you guys are having a great week so far. With spring and summer right around the corner, so many new products are launching and I wanted to share what's on my radar. I've already purchased a few products from my wishlist, and I've narrowed it down to a few that are still on my radar. I recently picked up the new La Mer Soliel De La Mer Bronzer and Coral Glow Lip & Cheek Glow. I'm currently testing out both of the products, and a review will be up on the blog within the next week or so.
- Chantecaille La Sirena Bronzer $78 this bronzer is part of their Summer 2018 collection. Truth be told I'm mostly swooning over the packaging, but Chantecaille cheek products never cease to amaze me. So, I'm very excited to get my hands on this bronzer.
- La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence-in-Foundation SPF 25 $195 one of my favorite foundations is by La Prairie so, I'm very curious to try this new foundation. This will also be my very first cushion foundation, which makes this product even more special.
- YSL Volupte Liquid Color Balm $32 this is not new to me cause I've already purchased one of the shade. I just love the formula of this liquid balm so, I want to try a few more shades. I have swatches of the shade 12 Chase Me Nude here.
- La Prairie Essence Of Skin Caviar Eye Complex $170 I'm currently on the hunt for a new eye cream/essence. My friends rave about this essence, and since I'm a huge fan of the brand, it quickly made its way to my wishlist.
- Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder $46 I'm hearing so many great things about this powder, and since I stopped using compact powders this will be a great addition to my short, one-man army Laura Mercier Translucent Powder collection.
- Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask $48 this new mask has everyone talking, and Sephora is constantly selling out. So, I'm very curious to find out what's so special about this new Jet Lag mask!
- Chantecaille Luminescent Eye Shade- a golden peach $48 this is also part of their Summer 2018 collection. The beautiful shimmering golden peachy shade immediately caught my attention, and there is also a very pretty seafoam shade.
- Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask $88 I recently attended a Chantecaille event where Sylvie spoke about how they collect the ingredients for their skincare products. I loved hearing the backstory, and since, I've never tried their skincare products I thought this gentle healing mask would be a great place to start.
This concludes my wishlist! Please, feel free to leave a comment below I would love to know what's on your wishlist.

In honor of the Nordstrom Beauty event, I wanted to share my picks for the Spring Beauty Edit 2018. I will be honest with you I can't keep up with all the latest trends, but for spring and summer, I think a fresh, dewy base and a bright glossy lips are a match made in heaven. I must warn you I got way too excited and I ended up picking out a lot of products. I think it's good to have options, and since I'm focusing on skin and lips I'm including foundations, blush, bronzers, and a lot of pretty lipsticks.
So, let's begin!
So, let's begin!

Spring Beauty Edit
Spring Beauty Edit
First up are the base products I always start with prepping my skin with a hydrating serum and a moisturizer with an SPF 30 followed by a primer. The one I'm loving right now is the Makeup forever HD Serum Booster, its lightweight, hydrating, and it smooths out the appearance of fine lines.
Here are my top three foundation picks:
Here are my top three foundation picks:
- Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick $46 - lately, this has been my go-to foundation. It's very creamy, long-wearing, blendable and it has a full coverage finish. I love that I can use this as a concealer, I've also worn this foundation all throughout the year, and I didn't experience any caking or creasing. It covers redness, blemishes like a dream, and a little goes a long way with this foundation. This is one of my tried and tested foundation and I always get compliments when I wear this foundation.
- Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation $64 this is a new discovery, but it quickly became one of my favorite due to the lightweight, buildable coverage finish. Luminous Silk foundation has an oil-free formula with a silky texture, and a satin finish. It doesn't cling to any dry patches or emphasize the texture on my skin. You can sheer out the coverage by adding a drop of facial oil or moisturizer of your choice, and to build up the coverage use a beauty blender for an opaque finish. The shade range is a bit of an issue, there are not enough shades with a yellow undertone. I picked up the shade #8 which is the closest match for me.
- Mac Cosmetics Face and Body Foundation $30- this foundation doesn't need a formal introduction its loved by many, and it is one of my favorite foundation of all time. This is a lightweight, long-wearing, light to medium coverage foundation with a natural skin-like finish. I have developed broken capillaries over the past few years (due to the lack of sun protection I bet that will teach me) this foundation does a decent job at covering up all my imperfections. If you have severe acne spots or hyperpigmentation you'll definitely need to spot conceal. Face and Body has a runny texture, so I like to use my fingers to apply this foundation. This foundation doesn't settle into any fine lines, clog my pores or cling to dry patches, it provides a smooth, even finish. I've been using this foundation since I was 18, and I will continue to use it as long as it works for me. This is also a staple in many makeup artists kits cause of the natural finish and it photographs really well.

Spring Beauty Edit
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder $38 has been a staple in my makeup routine for many years. I like to set my concealer with this powder, and I also like to lightly dust this on my t-zone. In order to obtain a luminous glow, I have to be very light hand with the application so, I use as little powder as possible. If you have very oily t-zone, I would recommend the Lancome Dual Finish Multi-Tasking Powder $40 it has a wide shade range to choose from, and it's a medium to full coverage finish powder that does a great job at keeping the oil at bay.

Spring Beauty Edit
As I have mentioned earlier, I clearly got a bit carried away. Honestly, I can't contain myself when it comes to highlighters and lipsticks. I mean you should take a peek in makeup bag who needs to carry 7+ lipsticks? I do!
I picked out a few of my favorites cheek products in both powder and cream formula. I recently started using cream products I don't know why I waited so long to try them. It really goes hand in hand with the radiant glowy look.
First up are the powder bronzer, highlighters, and blush.
- Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Lighting Bronzer* $50- this bronzer gives me the ultimate sun-kissed glow! It has a soft texture that blends effortlessly, and it doesn't leave my skin looking orange.
- Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo $82- a highlighting duo that can be applied individually or layered together for a multidimensional glow. I love Tom Ford highlighters cause they're very subtle and wearable. I use this duo mostly for my daytime looks cause it gives a natural glow without the chunky glitters.
- Nars Dual-Intensity Blush $ 45- Nars Dual-Intensity blush palette (review here) is one of my most used blush palettes. If you didn't get the chance to purchase the palette fear not cause it also comes in duos, and there are a few shades to choose from. These blushes can be used wet or dry depending on the intensity you're going for. I personally prefer using them dry since it's highly pigmented I don't feel the need to use them wet. Dual-Intensity blushes are very long wearing, and it has a satin finish.
- Laura Mercier Face Illuminator $44- Indiscretion, is a perfect everyday highlighter it has buttery a texture, and it's a beautiful rose gold shade. This highlighter can be used wet or dry and I prefer it dry to avoid the intense metallic highlighter look. However, I do like to use this wet when I use it as a brow bone highlighter. This is quite subtle but it adds just the right amount of glow.
- Mac Extra Dimension Skinfinish $34 Whisper of Gilt is probably one of Mac's bestselling highlighter, and it has now joined the permanent line. This highlighter is quite the opposite of subtle it's an intense, highly pigmented, champagne gold highlighter. I like to use this mostly during night time looks it has a cool liquid-powder texture, and I think this is a great option for anyone who loves an opaque finish highlighter.
- Cle De Peau Beaute Luminizing Face Enhancer $95 a beautiful highlighter that's subtle with a hint of shimmer. Don't be afraid of the shimmer cause its an overspray. Once you get rid of that layer of shimmer you're left with a luxuriously soft, silky, and lustrous finish highlighter.
- Wander Beauty On-the-Glow Bronzer & Illuminator* $45- a cream-to-powder formula that delivers a natural, pure matte, sun-kissed hue to the cheeks and face, while the illuminator imparts a subtle healthy glow and adds dimension to the face and body. Infused with a proprietary blend of HD pigments, vitamins, and hydrating ingredients, the buildable formula glides beautifully onto the skin, flattering all complexions. This is one of the creamiest bronzers I've used thus far. I also love that it comes with a highlighter so it's very travel-friendly. I have a detailed review with swatches here.
- By Terry Glow-Expert* $48- a two-in-one product which you can use to highlight and contour and it also has a brush on the other end. It has a creamy formula with a pearl finish, and it glides on the skin like butter. I have the shade Amber Light, I like to mix both shades to warm up my skin. The formula is incredible and I love how this stick duo looks on the skin it provides the prettiest glossy finish.
- YSL Touche Eclat Glow Shot Liquid Highlighter* $42 a liquid highlighter that brightens your complexion that gives your skin a radiant, dewy glow. I have the shade 2 Sunrise it's a beautiful pink opalescent shade. This is a bit sheer so you can mix this with your foundation for a luminescent glow.
- Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick $42 a highly pigmented, long-wearing, an innovative formula that adjusts to your body temperature to blend effortlessly into the skin. It’s also formulated with hollow microspheres for a weightless feel on the skin. It blends into the skin without any streaks with a high shine and metallic finish.
- Wander Beauty On-the-Glow Blush & Illuminator* $42- this is just as good as the bronzer duo the formula is very creamy, easy to blend, and the pigmentation is incredible. I also have a detailed review and swatches of this duo here.

I love peachy, coral lipsticks as you can tell I feel like its the perfect shade for spring and summer. I don't wear a lot of bold, colorful lipsticks, but when I do it's usually a bright orange or a coral shade.
- Tom Ford Sheer Lip Color $54- a lustrous sheen of color that complements sun-kissed, summer skin. I have four Lip Color Sheers, and I really like the texture of these lipsticks it has a comfortable wear that provides a layer of hydration to the lips.
- Chantecaille Lip Chic* $38- Hyacinth is a pinkish coral shade with a satin finish. I absolutely love the lip chic formula it has a sheer coverage with a very pretty glossy finish. I recently reviewed the Chantecaille spring collection here which includes this lipstick.
- Nars Velvet Lip Glide $26- Bound is a lovely rosy pink shade. These lip glides are highly pigmented, it goes on like a gloss, but sets like a lipstick. I also have a full review of the Nars Velvet Lip Glides here.
- Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet Liquid Lipsticks* $38- I have two shades 400 and 505 both are very pretty and fun bright colors. The creamy consistency glides on the lips smoothly, it has a non-drying formula, and it lasts for 3-4 hours before it starts to fade. I love the shade 400 it is a bright warm red, and I think it will suit most skin tones.
- YSL Volupté Liquid Balm $32- I'm a huge fan of YSL lip products so I had to try their newest launch, Volupte liquid Balm. A medium-coverage, high-shine liquid lip color that deeply moisturizes and protects lips like a balm. I picked up the shade in N12 Chase Me Nude it's a peachy nude. The formula is superb, and although, it's a lip balm it's still nicely saturated.
- Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Hydrating Shaping Lip Color $32- 172 Impatiente, a stunning orange-red. The formula is infused with moisture-boosting Pro-Bylane, it gives your lips a high color payoff without drying out your lips. I love using this lipstick during spring/summer it really brightens up my complexion, and the formula is quite hydrating which is always a plus.
- Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High-Intensity Refillable Lipstick $34- by now you can see a pattern of glossy, satin finish lipsticks. Well, this one fits right in with the rest of the lipsticks. This is a long-wearing, highly saturated lipstick with a satin finish. I accumulated a few shades of the Confession Ultra Slim lipsticks, but my favorite is I've Never_ which is a nude rose. I really like this shade of nude it's perfect for medium to tan skin tone, and it won't give you that washed out look.
- Chanel Rouge Coco Shine $37- this is probably my most used Chanel lipstick. I always keep this in my makeup bag for a quick touch up. Etourdie is a shimmering rosy pink shade with a sheer coverage that provides long-lasting hydration with a water-light texture. It glides on the lips easily, and it has a very pretty glossy finish.
- Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss* $20- this was launched recently, and I've reviewed all the shades here. Urban Decay did a great job with the shade range my favorites are Backtalk and Snitch. It's formulated with vitamin E and peppermint oil, a hydrating formula that leaves lips feeling nourished with an immediate plumping effect and it has a yummy vanilla-mint flavor.
- Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil* $26- I wouldn't put this in the lipstick category since it's more of a clear oil/gloss that keeps your lips hydrated throughout the day. I like to use this lip oil as a lipstick topper especially with a matte lipstick cause it provides a glossy, plumping effect to the lips.

This concludes my Spring Beauty Edit. I hope you enjoyed my picks and don't forget to check out the Nordstrom stores and event dates. You can simply RSVP online or ask for special accommodations by calling or stopping by your favorite cosmetics or skincare counter, located within Nordstrom.

Hourglass Cosmetics Vista Graphik Eyeshadow Palette
Today, I'm going to review the Hourglass Cosmetics Vista Graphik Eyeshadow Palette and the Arch Brow Sculpting Brow Pencil in Dark Brunette. Last year, I attended the grand opening event of the Hourglass Soho NY and that's when I got a preview of the new Graphik Eyeshadow Palettes. I also had the pleasure of taking over Hourglass Cosmetic Instagram with the talented Hourglass Cosmetics makeup artist Chanel. I was allowed to pick a few goodies to create a look so obviously, I went for the earthy tones, so I ended up picking Vista eyeshadow palette. I'm a little late to the game and I'm sure you've seen these palettes by now, but I thought I would share my thoughts and opinions about these two products with you all.
Hourglass Cosmetics launched four Graphik Eyeshadow Palettes Exclusive to HourglassCosmetics.com ($58 for .05 oz/1.4g x5) Expose-plums, Myth-mattes, Ravine-warm neutrals, and Vista-earth tones. The palettes feature a range of finishes to matte to metallic, for countless combinations from subtle to dramatic. Each palette features five finely milled, ultra smooth formulas to create endless looks with depth and dimension. It's formulated with a high concentration of pure pigment powder for the truest color payoff. The newly packaged eyeshadow palettes are housed in a classic sleek, light-weight mirrored compact its similar to the Ambient Lighting Compact.

Hourglass Cosmetics Vista Graphik Eyeshadow Palette
Hourglass Cosmetics Vista Graphik Eyeshadow Palette has beautiful mattes and shimmering neutral shades: Champagne Gold, Deep Olive, Rich Brown, Bronze, and Black. All five shades have a great color payoff, the shadows have silky smooth texture, it blends effortlessly, and I experienced very little fallouts. This is an all-in-one palette cause it has a transition shade and a highlighter shade, so you can add some warmth, depth, and highlight your browbone and inner corner of your eyes. I personally, love using the shade Rich Brown (a mid-tone brown shade) all over the lids and pop some mascara on which, is usually my go-to look but you can also take it up a notch and create a perfect smokey eye with this palette. Although all five shades are nice and opaque I must mention, the Black shade in this palette is highly pigmented and I'm truly impressed with the longevity of the shadows. The shadows are long-lasting it wore 9-10 hours before I noticed some fading.
This eyeshadow palette is formulated without Paraben, Sulfates, Phthalates, Synthetic Dyes, and GMOs.

Hourglass Cosmetics Vista Graphik Eyeshadow Palette
Here's a comparison between the Graphik and Modernist eyeshadow palette. I do prefer the new packaging more than the older one it seems more practical and user-friendly. The Infinity Modernist Eyeshadow Palette wasn't a huge hit in my opinion but I never had an issue with the formula or pigmentation. Overall, It performed nicely, but I just didn't reach for it as much mostly due to the issues with the packaging. I have swatches of Infinity Modernist Eyeshadow Palette here.

Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Brow Pencil
Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Brow Pencil ($34 for .014 oz) that combines the benefit and technique of a powder, pencil, and wax. There are nine shades available:
- Platinum Blond- lightest cool blond/platinum
- Blond- light neutral taupe
- Warm Blond- dark blond/strawberry blond
- Ash- gray/dark brown with cool undertones
- Auburn- medium to deep red tones
- Warm Brunette- warm medium brown
- Soft Brunette- medium brown
- Dark Brunette- cool tone dark brown
- Natural Black- darkest brown to black
I have the shade Dark Brunette (a cool tone dark brown shade) it really compliments my dark hair and it gives my brows a natural look. I love the packaging of this Brow pencil the sleek metal double-ended design has a unique triangular shape tip on one end to allow complete control and precision with every application, while the other end features a brush for brow grooming. The texture of this brow pencil is incredible, and the triangular shaped pencil helps to fill in the sparse areas easily even if you're not a brow expert you can achieve the perfect brows with this pencil. I love using this brow pencil, especially for the no-makeup makeup days. The brush really helps blend out the product evenly giving my brows a feathery look which I love!

Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Brow Pencil

Final Verdict:
I just have to say kudos to Hourglass Cosmetics for being a cruelty-free brand! Hourglass Cosmetics continues to impress me with their simple yet stunning products. The color scheme for the Vista palette will catch any neutral eyeshadow lovers attention. They kept it simple and easy for us all with the concept of one palette with endless possibilities. Like I have mentioned, this new packaging gets a thumbs up from me, it's got a big mirror so you can carry this in your makeup bag for a quick touch-up. And, the lightweight compact makes this palette very travel-friendly. Vista is highly saturated, all five shades performed really well, they surpassed my expectations. I also want to share my little trick with you all I love using the black shadow as an eyeliner. I find it really easy to apply, and I also don't have to worry about messing up cause I have more control over the brush.
Now the Arch Brow Pencil whether you like bold or subtle brows, you can create the brows you desire with this brow pencil. I used this brow pencil on my mom she has thick brows, but lots of sparse areas and it was very easy to fill in, and it took only a few gentle strokes to fill in her brows. This is not a new product but it was new to me and I don't leave the house without this. I highly recommend this brow pencil it's definitely worth checking out.

Happy Monday! Newyork was warm and sunny this weekend and it was also Bengali New Year day what a perfect day to celebrate and start the year off right. Traditionally we wear red and white saree but I decided to mix it up a bit. I don't wear a lot of colors on a daily basis my outfit mostly consists of white or black color tops with jeans. When it comes to shoes and handbags, that's where I like to have some fun and twist. I wore one of my favorite pair of emerald green mules I purchased this pair last year from HM. The quality is superb it's has a satin material and it is very comfortable. Keeping the emerald green theme going I wore these vintage earrings that I purchased a few years ago, I absolutely love these earrings. I'm also loving the combination of the new Givenchy Blossom Crush and Byredo Bal d'Afrique perfumes both floral scents but it's not too heavy, it's very light and airy. Now let's discuss the bag I'm sure you've all seen the newest trend- PVC bags. Well, I can't get enough of the new trendy bag, I picked up an affordable version from Nordstrom. I'm eyeing a beautiful Chanel PVC bag but not sure if its worth the splurge. For now, I'm going to enjoy every bit of this BP. PVC Bag.

This concludes my Sephora sale recommendations. Most of the products that I've mentioned here are things I've already used, using or in my Sephora cart which is why I can vouch for them. I'm very picky when it comes to fragrance if I had to pick one out of the three I shared I would go with Tom Ford Noir it smells amazing! Another item I want to squeeze in is the Beauty Blender Two .BB. Clean ($40.00) I'm definitely picking this up I love the cleanser it really deep cleans the sponges. That being said once I receive all the goodies I will either do a haul post or share on my Instagram. I would love to know what's on your wishlist please let me know in a comment below. If you're shopping online don't forget to use the coupon code 20ROUGE or 20VIB before checking out. Happy Shopping!!
