Paul & Joe Beaute, a Japanese brand that does the most adorable packaging and beautifully embossed products. I had the pleasure of previewing their 2019 Autumn Collection a few weeks ago. This collection includes two primers, three Limited Edition CS lipsticks, six Sparkling eye colors, and two powder blushes. They also launched a few whimsical blush compacts and lipstick cases.
Les Vendanges, the wine harvest season in France. Fresh fruity taste. Rich, full body. A hint of spice. Create intoxicating and expressive looks as diverse as the aromas and flavors of beautiful wines in Autumn.
The collection is now available at Amazon.

Paul & Joe Pearl Foundation Primer
003 Pinot Noir- contains gold and red pearls to give skin a healthy, flushed glow.
004 Muscadet- contains gold and silver pearls to eliminate redness and discoloration.
The new primers ($36 for 1 fl.oz) are housed in a thick glass bottle which allows you to see the beautiful little pearls. It has a unique blend of light-reflecting pearls. The serum-like consistency glides onto the skin effortlessly, even out tone, and mask imperfections. The non-stick, cooling formula creates the ideal canvas for makeup application. It has a blend of three hyaluronates and three moisturizing botanicals, it provides an intense dose of hydration, and it's perfect for all skin types. Both primers are grape scented, and it's a little too strong for me but, it doesn't linger for long. These Pearl Foundation Primers addresses a variety of skin concerns. For a natural blushing radiance, apply Pinot Noir. To reduce redness and even tone, apply Muscadet.
I love the gel-like texture, it gives your skin a subtle healthy glow. The finely milled shimmer won't make you look greasy, it's a perfect way to prep your skin for a dewy base. I like to use these primers only on my cheeks since my t-zone is very oily, I try to avoid any shimmer or glow based products on those areas. I use 1-2 drops, and it instantly hydrates my skin, however, it doesn't blur out my pores or any imperfections. I think I will be reaching for these more during fall and winter when the harsh cold weather makes my skin incredibly dry.

Key Ingredients:
- Orange flower water
- White lily extract
- Apricot extract
- Sodium hyaluronate
- Acetyl hyaluronic acid
- Hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate

Paul & Joe Sparkling Eye Color $23- A cream to powder formula that stays put all day long due to key ingredients evaporating upon application. It allows the product to create a flexible layer that firmly adheres to the eye without caking or fall out. It's a gel-based formula and rich concentration of oil.
Cream shadows have been my favorite lately. At first, I wasn't sure of these shadows since they're oil-based but, it glides on the lids with ease. It's highly pigmented with buildable coverage. I'm always scared of blue eyeshadows but 03 Midnight Hour immediately caught my eyes. These shadows can be used on its own, or a sheer wash of color, or as a sparkling topper. I used the neutral shades alone, and despite the shimmering metallic finish, it was still a very wearable everyday look. I like to use my fingers to apply the shadows, and they layer well with each other. I wore them for 5-6 hours and I find they last even longer if I use a base such as Laura Mercier Cocoa Caviar Stick.
Key ingredients:
- Orange flower extract
- White lily extract
- Jojoba seed oil
- Rosa roxburghii fruit extract
- Sodium hyaluronate
The Sparkling Eye Colors are now part of their permanent collection.

Paul & Joe Powder Blush ($18) and Compact ($10) these wine-inspired hues feature two complementary shades that can be worn alone for an intense pop of color, or blended if desired. Infused with red and gold pearls, these blushes give skin a radiant, luminous glow with just one swipe.
- 009 Le Vignoble- a brown-tinged red and rich berry
- 010 Vin Mature- a deep red and pearlescent deep pink
The floral embossing on the blushes is simply stunning! The blushes are rich in pigmentation, and the silky texture blends evenly. On my tan skin, both blushes give off a pink tint. I love mixing both shades, and I use a large fluffy Real Technique brush to apply these blushes.

Paul & Joe is back with an intoxicating new CS lipstick collection. These lipsticks are customizable, you have to purchase the lipstick cases ($9), and the bullets ($20) separately. As much as I love the cute cases, I do wish they were plastic instead of cardboard. I have tried P&J lipsticks before, and I was quite impressed by the comfortable formula, and high shine finish. These new limited-edition lipsticks are inspired by the wines hues. Formulated with a high concentration of moisturizing ingredients, and oils such as orange flower water and macadamia nut oil. The ultra-creamy texture has buildable coverage, and it's perfect for any occasion. The texture almost feels like a lip balm, it makes your lip look fuller and plumper.
There are three shades available:
- 118 Bourgogne- cool burgundy red
- 116 Les Vendanges- rich grape red
- 117 Wine Cooler- pink rose
118 and 117 have an opaque finish, and it also lasts a little longer than 116 which goes on more sheer. I wore them for 4-5 hours, before having to touch up, and 116 lasted for 1-2 hours before it started fading. I usually shy away from bold lip colors but, due to the sheer finish, Les Vendanges can be worn for day to day looks. They also launched three limited-edition lipstick cases 052- iconic cat and floral motif, 053- a whimsical, yet chic floral design, 054- a cheeky cat print, and Lipstick Case N ($12) in 002 Flamingo Pink.

Overall:
I'm truly impressed with P&J Beaute. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did but, the formula speaks for itself. I love the Sparkling eye colors and the CS Lipsticks. On my eyes, I'm wearing the shades 04 and 05 sparkling eye colors. If you're new to the brand, I would highly recommend their Lipsticks and Sparkling Eye Colors.

Final Verdict:
These lipsticks have a unique gel-like formula with a great color payoff. With a single swipe, it will provide a medium to full coverage finish. The only shade that needed a few more swipes was Raisin since it applies a bit sheer I have to use a liner with that shade for an even finish.
I'm someone who prefers a comfort matte or glossy finish over liquid lipsticks so these are right up my alley. As always, I gravitated towards the nudes, mauves and corals and my favorite shades are Nutmeg, Saffron, Spice, Peony, Cinnamon, Petal, Bloom, Strawberry, and Geranium. These are definitely long-wearing lipsticks but not completely transfer proof. It lasted for hours till I had lunch and I only had to touch up once. I would highly recommend you check these out specially if you're planning on shopping during the Sephora sale.

Laura Mercier recently launched a few new products, and since some of you asked for swatches, I thought I would feature them all in one blog post. Today I'm going to review:
Blush Colour Infusion $30 each for 0.2 oz.
Lip Glace $26 each for 0.15 oz.
Translucent Glow Powder $38 for 1 oz.
First up are the new blushes there are 10 shades to choose from, and it comes in two different formulas- soft matte and pearl sheen. The blushes are rich in pigment and have 10-hour wear, it has sheer to buildable coverage. The weightless, silky smooth texture helps to blend out the products seamlessly.
Soft Matte Shades:
- Rose
- Chai
- Ginger
- Strawberry
- Kir Royale
Pearl Sheen Shades:
- Sangria
- Pomegranate
- Fresco
- Peach
- Grapefruit

Laura Mercier Blush Colour Infusion
I received 3 shades:
- Peach- a sheer light coral with a golden undertone and it has a shimmer finish.
- Rose- rose pink shade with a soft matte finish.
- Sangria- plum berry shade with a cool undertone and it has a shimmer finish.
Laura Mercier Blush Colour Infusion $30 packaged in a sturdy mini compact. I love blushes, and I'm always looking for new ones to try. These blushes are silky smooth I love both finishes, and the weightless formula delivers a sheer wash of color that looks very natural and not overdone.
I really like the shade range there are soft neutrals to vivid pops of colors to choose from. The shades are also great for all skin tones my favorite is Peach- it reminds me of Nars Orgasm, but a wearable version without the chunky glitters. I always have issues with blushes fading away within an hour or so, but these stays put all day long! All three blushes look great on my tan skin complexion. I have been rotating Rose and Peach for the past few weeks these two are perfect everyday blushes.

Laura Mercier Lip Glace
Laura Mercier Lip Glace $26 Housed in a sleek clear tube with a doe foot applicator. There are 26 shades, and the shades range from nudes, pinks, berry, mauve, coral, and red with cream and micro-shimmer finishes. I have six shades to review:
- Baby Doll- a shimmering pink.
- Opal- a coral shade with gold micro-shimmer.
- Sparkling- a shimmering light peach.
- Bare Blush- a cool tone mauve.
- Bare Baby- a light pink shade with micro-shimmer.
- Cosmic- a clear gloss with shimmer.

Laura Mercier Lip Glace
The Lip Glaces aren't new cause I remember purchasing the shade Baby Doll years ago. These glosses have high-shine, sheer to medium coverage, and it has a unique blend of moisturizing, anti-aging, antioxidant and plumping ingredients. The nonsticky formula helps with the even application, and the thick creamy consistency wears comfortably on the lips. I sort of became a gloss junkie over the past few months, and I tried so many glosses from various brands. This along with Urban Decay glosses (review here) are probably my favorite glosses at the moment.
These glosses are long lasting I get at least 4-5 hours of wear before it starts to fade. The color payoff is quite opaque except for Cosmic- it's a clear gloss with beautiful shimmer. The glosses smell delicious it reminds me of marshmallows/sweet vanilla I don't find it very overpowering but if you're sensitive to scents keep that in mind. I didn't notice any plumping effect, but the brilliant shine can give you a fuller pout especially if you slightly overline your lips with a lip liner and top it off with the Lip Glaces. My favorite shades are Sparkling, Bare Baby, and Opal.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder $38 the iconic Translucent powder now comes in the luminous glow! I'm a huge fan of the original setting powder it's what I use to set my concealer and t-zone. The new glow powder sets makeup for up to 12 hours of luminous weightless wear. The powder is pearl infused, so it gives you a beautiful, healthy looking radiant finish. This is a no flashback formula, doesn't settle into fine lines, crease or emphasize on pores. There are two shades- Translucent and Radiant Deep. The Glow Powder has a champagne hue with fine micro-shimmer, and due to the ultra smooth formula, it doesn't cling to any dry patches.
I have combination oily skin with large pores so I was a bit unsure of how it would look on me. I definitely won't recommend you set your entire face with this powder. I like to lightly dust a mattifying powder on my t-zone and use the Glow powder on my cheeks focusing on the areas I would like a healthy glowing finish. You can also dust the glow powder on your collarbones or shoulder.
I used to be a fan of all things matte, but this year my skin has been totally unpredictable, so I started experimenting with my makeup routine. I stopped using powder foundations to set my foundations instead I opted for a lightweight translucent powder. I focus it only on the areas that are oily, and I was thrilled with the result. This new glow powder is right up my alley I just have to be light hand with the application and focus on suitable areas.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Laura Mercier also launched a new Glow Brush $38 it's designed to apply the powder evenly all over the face. The curved shape is designed to fit the contours of the face, and it helps sweep powder smoothly and effortlessly.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Final Verdict:
Laura Mercier products are classic, simple yet elegant that's what I most love about the brand. The new blushes are just that, and it's my absolute favorite! The wearable shades range is perfect for all skin tones. The Lip Glaces are also something I would highly recommend.
As for the Glow Powder, it might not be for everyone I feel like it depends on how you much glow you prefer. The powder contains micro-shimmer, so it creates a soft, subtle glow to the skin. I know a lot of people with oily skin shy away from anything glowy, but I live for a dewy, luminous glow!
Lip Glace, Blush Colour Infusion, and Translucent Loose Setting Powder are now available at Sephora, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.
