For the 2018 Met Gala “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”, celebrity makeup artist Beau Nelson created a glowing and feminine celestial look on Kate Bosworth using Chantecaille.
Beau was inspired by Byzantine paintings from the Eastern Roman Empire. He wanted Kate’s beauty to emulate an ethereal, monochromatic look from that era.
"I would describe this look as monochromatic. The color palette consisted of nude rose, rosy taupes, and soft beige pinks.” – Beau Nelson

Skin
1. To prep the skin, Beau applied the newly released Gold Recovery Mask ($270) on Kate’s face and neck to revitalize and refresh Kate’s skin, and applied the Gold Energizing Eye Recovery Masks ($195) to brighten and rejuvenate her under eyes.
2. To moisturize the skin for long-lasting hydration and a natural radiance, Beau mixed together Rose de Mai Face Oil ($185) with soothing Magnolia, Jasmine, and Lily Healing Emulsion ($120).
FACE
1. For a creamy natural base, perfectly matched to Kate’s skin tone, Beau combined Future Skin Shades ($78) Ivory, a pink tone with milky Alabaster.
2. To set the base and prepare the skin for high-definition cameras, Beau brushed on HD Perfecting Powder ($75), starting at the center of Kate’s face.
3. Next, Beau primed Kate’s cheeks with universally-flattering pink Cheek Gelée in Happy ($44), and then brushed Philanthropy Cheek Shade in Laughter ($40), a warm peachy pink blush. This cheek shade is embossed with coral and benefits the Marine Conservatory Biology Institute.
4. Beau highlighted the high points of Kate’s face with the L'Arbre Illuminé Palette ($75).
EYES
1. For the eyes, Beau dusted Lasting Eye Shade in Coriander ($26) onto Kate’s Lid.
2. Next, in the crease, Beau applied Mermaid Eye Matte in Elephant ($34), and then Mermaid Eye Matte in Lion ($34) on the inner corner of Kate’s eyes.
3. For perfectly full, face-framing brows, Beau enhanced and polished Kate’s eyebrows with Waterproof Brow Definer in Ash Blonde ($36).
4. To finish the eyes, Beau brushed on Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara ($72) to thicken and lengthen Kate’s lashes.
LIPS
1. Beau lined Kate’s lips with Lip Definer in Natural ($26), a beigey-pink for long-lasting wear.
2. For a perfect nude-pink lip, he combined Matte Chic ($39) in Marisa, a petal pink, with Matte Chic ($39) in Suzy, a glamorous blush nude.
3. To finish her glowing look, Beau focused golden highlighter from limited edition Les Paillettes ($79) on Kate’s cupid bow.

Kjaer Weis
Cream Blush in Sun Touched ($56 for 0.123 fl. oz)
Lip Balm ($50 for 0.13 fl. oz)
Kjaer Weis was founded by Kristen Kjaer Weis, who's a Newyork based makeup artist, she worked around the world for some of the most renowned fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire. As an in-demand makeup artist, Kirsten found that people were sacrificing the health of their skin by using irritating, synthetic makeup. The natural products, however, were not up to par in performance, and the luxury of the beauty experience was lost. Kirsten used her experience growing up in a natural environment and her knowledge of beauty to pursue uncharted territory in the industry, creating Kjaer Weis - a pioneer in organic, luxury beauty.
Kjaer Weis is leading the movement with high-performing, luxury makeup that is, as everything should be, organic and sustainable. Every batch of makeup has been inspected by hand and remains free of parabens, silicones, petrochemical emulsifiers and synthetic fragrances. Made in Italy, almost all of their products have been Certified Natural or Certified Organic by the stringent standards of the country’s certification body, the Controllo e Certificazione Prodotti Biologici.
I love discovering new brands so when I was asked to test out a few Kjaer Weis Products I was more than happy to do so. Today I'm going to review the KW Sun Touched cream blush and The Lip Balm. This brand screams luxury from the elegant packaging to the products itself. Kjaer Weis line contains foundations, eyeshadows, cream blushes, cream bronzers, highlighters, lipsticks, lip balm and lip tints. Everything in the line comes in a refillable pan which comes in paper cartons.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Sun Touched
KW Sun Touched cream blush is a beautiful warm peachy coral shade and it's great for medium-dark skin with neutral or golden undertones. The blush comes in a heavy metal architectural design compact and the cover slides open to reveal the pan. The consistency is very creamy, lightweight and it's highly pigmented so you only need a few dots on the apple of your cheeks for a youthful, glowy sun-kissed look. I like to use my fingers to apply the blush the warmth of my fingers helps melt the product which helps blend out the blush seamlessly. The texture has some tackiness to it without it being too sticky. My cheeks are very dry and I find this cream blush extremely hydrating and it doesn't cling to any dry patches. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this blush performed. I usually have trouble with cream blushes fading midday, however, this is very long lasting it wore for 8-9 hours before it started fading. Here are some of the key ingredients:
Jojoba Seed Oil- Adds moisture to the skin.
Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil- Excellent tissue regeneration properties; fights signs of aging.
Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract- Antioxidant; works as a natural preservative.

Cle De Peau Beaute
The Foundation
Broad Spectrum SPF 21 Sunscreen
27 ml for $250
Product Info:
An ultra-luxurious, buildable sheer-to-medium coverage foundation that blurs imperfections leaving skin perfectly even-toned, luminous and cashmere to the touch. Developed from unprecedented skincare science, this lightweight foundation contains radiance-boosting exclusive Illuminating Complex EX which moisturizes, rejuvenates, retexturizes and visibly repairs environmental skin damage for smoothing radiant coverage.

Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation
I'm finally back with the review of Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation sounds fancy right? Well, it's definitely one of the most luxurious foundations in the market with a price tag of $250. The Foundation is housed in a sturdy lucite glass jar it also comes with a beautiful coaster that holds a little gold spatula. I think we can all agree the packaging is jaw-dropping but it is not the best travel-friendly packaging. I would have to scoop some out in a sample jar if I want to bring this along with me when I travel. There are 12 shades and I was matched with the shade O50 Deep Ochre, which is the second to last darkest shade and it's a pretty good match for me. I have swatches of all the shades here. The texture of the foundation is bouncy, feels like a gel/moisturizer, it blends into the skin seamlessly and it doesn't cling to any dry patches. The coverage is buildable but you can sheer it out by mixing the foundation with your moisturizer/primer or you can apply two layers for a full coverage finish. I was told it's best to apply this foundation with your fingers but I'm not a big fan of that so I just use my favorite Sigma Flat Top Kabuki brush to apply the product. The Foundation feels very light-weight, hydrating, comfortable on the skin and it has a semi-matte finish. I have combination oily skin so I like to prime my skin prior to applying any foundation. I wanted to maintain the same routine while testing out this product and I loved the healthy glow I achieved with The Foundation. I have pigmentation around my mouth, sun spots, large pores, and textured skin. The foundation covered my imperfections without settling into any fine lines. I did have to use a concealer under my eyes cause those bags and dark circles need extra coverage. My t-zone is extremely oily so I can never get away without setting my foundation. Once I set the foundation, I only have to touch up no more than once or twice throughout the day. I've been wearing this foundation nonstop it doesn't get cakey or oxidize and it lasts all day long!

Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation
The key ingredients are:
Golden Silk Essence- Combats loss of clarity, translucence, and suppleness.
Japanese Pearl- Leaves skin satin smooth.
Theanine- Evens skin tone.
Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract- A traditional herb is known to support the skin's beauty.
It's also formulated with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and it's fragrance-free.
Full ingredients:

FRAGRANCE (PARFUM). DISTEARYLDIMONIUM CHLORIDE. MICA. SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE. CITRONELLOL. POLYMETHYLSILSESQUIOXANE. DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER. GERANIOL. LINALOOL. ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. BHT. BUTYLPHENYL METHYLPROPIONAL. BUPLEURUM FALCATUM ROOT EXTRACT. THEANINE. PEG/PPG-14/7 DIMETHYL ETHER. SODIUM ACETYLATED HYALURONATE. ROSA ROXBURGHII FRUIT EXTRACT. I have primed my skin with a serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, Estee Lauder Priming Moisture Balm and Benefit Porefessional primer (only on my t-zone).

I applied one layer of the foundation like I usually do and here's the finished result. As you can see It did a great job at covering up my pigmentation, sunspots and it evened out my skin tone. I used Wander Beauty Dual concealer (review here) and to set the concealer I used Laura Mercier Translucent powder. I set the foundation with Lancome Dual-Finish Powder (only on my t-zone), warmed up the skin with Givenchy Healthy Glow Bronzer (review here), on my cheeks I have on Kjaer Weis Sun Touched cream blush and for the highlighter, I used Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal.

Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation

Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation
I wanted to compare a few other foundation shades so you can get an idea. Although CDP O50 isn't very warm it's a great match for me during winter. I will probably have to switch to O60 during summer. My Mac shade reference is NC42 so if you're darker than NC42-44, unfortunately, you won't be able to find a match. The limited shade range is the only con I can think of other than the costly price tag. Hopefully, Cle De Peau will extend the shade range in the future that way everyone can enjoy this beautiful foundation.

Cle De Peau Beaute The Foundation
Final Verdict:
The brand claims this foundation has anti-aging properties which help "diminish the appearance of damage caused by dryness and bring visible improvement to skin". I can't vouch for that but I do love the youthful, radiant glow it provides, I always wanted to obtain the perfect dewy base but having oily skin it was very hard to do so. With this foundation, I was able to attain that subtle glowy base like I've always wanted. So far, I've only tested this foundation during the cooler months and it has performed very well, however, I'm curious to see how it will hold up during summer. I think this will be great for all skin tones, it didn't clog my pores or cause any breakouts. I like so many things about this product I don't have to touch up much, it doesn't settle into my dreadful smile lines, the coverage and the finished result is impeccable.
Now it's time for the big question- Do I recommend this foundation? Absolutely! With that being said, I know this is way too expensive but if you're in the mood to treat yourself with one of the most luxurious beauty product ever, I say go for it! This little jar of the foundation will literally last you forever since a little goes a long with this product and I think this is one foundation I won't be hitting pan on anytime soon. So you're definitely getting your money's worth.

I think I'm the last one to purchase this product. I tried to look the other way but it didn't work. Nowadays social medias are such a enabler I tell you but I'm glad I purchase this though cause its an amazing blush. Many of you might not know this but I started my beauty adventure with this brand. I will do a review on these blush once I receive the other three. I also decided to rotate my makeup every week so I can try and use up some of the makeup I have in my collection. I rediscovered my Inglot eye shadows and it seems to me i can't put them down. Which means more makeup looks are on it's way.
Hey loves this is the third and last Valentines Day look that I created for you guys. For this look I wanted to use soft colors so the colors lavender and lilac came to mind. I wanted a wearable look so I kept it pretty simple. I skipped lashes for this look but if you want you can add some falsies. I also wanted to keep the skin really dewy. Mac's lustre drops added that perfect glow to the skin. I was having some trouble with the lighting it was a gloomy day. Hope you like this look and try it out =)
