Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss

Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss review and swatches
Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss

Urban Decay recently launched 20 new Lipglosses ($20 each for 0.23 oz) called the Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss. There are four different formulas Cream, Sheer Cream, Holographic, and Metallic. These ultra-shiny lip glosses glide on cushiony-soft and provide long-lasting wear that's comfortable. The smooth finish formula doesn't feel tacky, and it won't feather or bleed. It's formulated with vitamin E and peppermint oil, a hydrating formula that leaves lips feeling nourished with an immediate plumping effect and it has a yummy vanilla-mint flavor.

The glosses come in a flat clear tube so it's easy to see the shades and it fits perfectly inside your handbag. The flexible, flocked-silicone paddle applicator allows you to apply the gloss in an even layer with just one swipe. The peppermint oil does give you a tingling sensation it's not too overpowering, and it subsides quickly. I love that the glosses have a slight plumping effect although it's not too noticeable it does make my lips appear fuller.

I must say the formula is incredible, the cream and sheer cream finishes are probably my most favorite ones, but I still love a few shades of the holographic glosses. The shimmers are not chunky it has a fine texture, and the metallic finish has an intense shine yet it's still wearable.

  • Goldmine- metallic bright gold.
  • SPL- holographic candy pink with iridescent sparkle.
  • Candy Flip- holographic lavender with blue-pink sparkle.
  • Big Bang- metallic hot pink sparkle.
  • Snapped- holographic deep plum with blue shimmer.
  • Obsessed- baby pink cream. (this applied a bit sheer)
  • Jawbreaker- classic plum cream.
  • Savage- electric pink cream.
  • Snitch- bright coral cream.
  • Bang- bright orange-red cream.

I couldn't believe how pigmented Goldmine is I thought, it would be a bit sheer on the lips but much to my surprise it's highly pigmented. I also like SPL, Candy Flips and Snapped you can wear these alone or use them as a top coat over a lipstick. The shimmering glosses are really playful, and it's perfect for the warmer weather.

Final Verdict:

I'm truly impressed with these lip glosses most of the cream finish glosses have medium to full coverage. My top picks are Backtalk, Fuel, Beso, Snitch, SPL, and Rapture. Hi-Fi Shine Holographic and Metallic glosses have a sheer to light finish coverage you can also apply a few coats to build up the coverage.  All the glosses lasted about 3-4 hours before it started fading. Even when the glosses fades away my lips are still left with a light stain and hydrated.

I think the price point is very reasonable, the shades will be flattering on all skin tone, and I also love that UD did such a wide range of shades, so whether you're into bold or neutral shades Urban Decay has got you covered.

Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipglosses are now available at Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Macy's and Nordstrom. Currently, these glosses are on sale at Nordstrom and Macy's (use code Friend) so, this would be a perfect time to take advantage of the sale.

Happy Friday! Spring has sprung, and I had to take advantage of all the pretty blossom trees so, it was only appropriate to shoot this dress on this location. I felt this sheer lace dress went perfectly with the pretty trees. This dress was under $40 it's very well made, and it has beautiful embroidered details with scalloped trimming. I think this will be a great dress for summer weddings or parties since the fabric is very comfortable. I'm 5'3, and the dress is a bit long for me so, I had to pair it with high heels. I went for the classic Christian Louboutin Pigalle in 100mm.

Kiko Milano Free Soul Collection Review & Swatches

Kiko Milano Free Soul Collection

Kiko Milano Free Soul Collection

Kiko Milano Free Soul Collection was created specifically by designer Ross Lovegrove, The packaging featured a touch of aqua green all over, reminiscent of the sorbet tones of spring, while the "crumpled" effect echoes the pastel mood of the collection.

Kiko was generous enough to send a few products from the collection for review purposes. The seafoam color compacts are very sturdy, luxurious and the prices range from $10-$28. This collection has everything you need to create a dramatic to neutral looks. The collection includes:

Kiko Milano Free Soul Blush Review
Kiko Milano Free Soul Blush

Lately, I've been loving cream blushes, so I was very eager to test the blush duos. The cream blush duos are nicely pigmented, long lasting, hydrating, however, it's not as creamy as I would like it to be. Although it blends seamlessly, it also dries very quickly, so you'd have to work a little faster with these blushes. I do like the shades, at first I thought I would love the coral duo, however, I gravitated more towards 01 Biscuit Chance. I love mixing the shades and customizing the colors, my favorite is the highlighters, its got a very nice sheen to it and it's not too shimmery or glittery.

01 Biscuit Chance Blush- is a neutral, warm terracotta shade. It's very flattering on my tan skin I love mixing the two shades for a healthy, radiant glow.

02 Coral Vibes Blush- is a light coral blush with a peachy highlighter. I usually love coral shades, but this is a bit light for me. I prefer mixing this shade with Biscuit Chance blush for flushed cheeks look.

Kiko Milano Free Soul Liquid Bronzer swatches
Kiko Milano Free Soul Liquid Bronzer in 01 Natural Beige

I haven't had much luck with liquid bronzers in the past cause they're either too warm or too light for me. Unfortunately, this Liquid Bronzer is too light for my tan skin, but I do like the creamy consistency the formula is superb, and it's also very easy to blend. I love the packaging as well it's housed in a thick, sturdy glass jar and it has a large doe foot applicator. I think 01 Natural beige liquid bronzer is ideal for light to medium skin tone.

Kiko Milano Free Soul Highlighter swatches
Kiko Milano Free Soul Highlighter

Kiko Milano Free Soul Highlighter is a silky highlighter that features three shades. This highlighter has a light texture, it's highly pigmented, and it has a pearly/shimmery finish. Once you mix all three shades, it gives you a warm rose gold shade which can be very pretty on darker skin tone. I love using a fan brush to apply the highlighter that way I have more control over the application. I'm not a huge fan of intense, dramatic highlighters, so I like to use the top shades for everyday looks. For nighttime looks, I do like to kick it up a notch and go for all three shades. This might not be the best option for pale skin tones it can be a little too over the top in terms of color wise but to tone it down a bit, you can use this as a blush topper.

Kiko Milano Free Soul Lipsticks swatches
Kiko Milano Free Soul Lipsticks

The Free Soul lipsticks come in a comfortable matte finish formula. The velvety texture helps coat the lips with full coverage and intense pigmentation. I do like the formula and it does have a velvety feel to it, as far as the texture goes but I would suggest priming your lips prior to the application. Since it's a matte finish lipstick it does settle into the fine lines of the lips, however, it doesn't bleed so lipliner can be optional. Both lipsticks wore for 4-5 hours before it started fading and it did leave a light stain behind.

01 Wild Rose Heart- a peachy nude.

04 Keep Moving Coral- a bright warm coral. (my favorite)

Kiko Milano Free Soul Mascara
Kiko Milano Free Soul Mascara

I have heard nothing but great things about Kiko Milano Mascaras and I did try one of their mascara, in the past and I was not disappointed. I love the burgundy color mascara it's a colored mascara, but it's still wearable. These mascaras definitely help up the curl, but it wasn't as volumizing as I like it to be, but nonetheless, with 2-3 coats, it does make my lashes look long and defined.

Kiko Milano Free Soul Nailpolish Shake The World Rose
Kiko Milano Free Soul Nailpolish in Shake The World Rose

Nail polish with a professional finish and up to 5 days of brilliant colorIt's easy to apply, and each shade has been composed with maximum precision for optimum texture, coverage, and performance of pigments. It is available in the spring-like shades, that evoke the mood of the collection.

I received a lot of requests on Instagram to swatch this nail polish, so I hope the swatches will help give you an idea of the shade. I absolutely love this nail polish it was the first thing I tested, and I'm truly impressed with the lasting power. It wore for 5-6 days before it started chipping, with just one coat you get an opaque finish, but I prefer two coats for an even finish.

Shake The World Rose- a rosy mauve shade.

Kiko Milano Free Soul Collection review and swatches
Kiko Milano Free Soul Collection

Final Verdict:

I have to give it to Kiko Milano for the beautiful packaging which screams spring! I also liked the blush & highlighter brush, it's a synthetic brush that's densely packed, and it has an angled tip. The angled tip helps achieve a precise application, and it also blends out the products evenly. The double eyeshadow brush isn't my favorite, but it does get the job done, however, I actually prefer using this brush to spot conceal.

A few days ago, I accidentally dropped the highlighter compact, and it was still intact, so these products are very travel-friendly. If I had to pick my favorites, I would say 01 Biscuit Chance Blush, Keep Moving Coral Lipstick, and Shake The World Rose nail polish.

Have you tried anything from the Kiko Free Soul Collection

TOM FORD GLOW STICK

Happy Monday! Newyork was warm and sunny this weekend and it was also Bengali New Year day what a perfect day to celebrate and start the year off right. Traditionally we wear red and white saree but I decided to mix it up a bit. I don't wear a lot of colors on a daily basis my outfit mostly consists of white or black color tops with jeans. When it comes to shoes and handbags, that's where I like to have some fun and twist. I wore one of my favorite pair of emerald green mules I purchased this pair last year from HM. The quality is superb it's has a satin material and it is very comfortable. Keeping the emerald green theme going I wore these vintage earrings that I purchased a few years ago, I absolutely love these earrings. I'm also loving the combination of the new Givenchy Blossom Crush and Byredo Bal d'Afrique perfumes both floral scents but it's not too heavy, it's very light and airy. Now let's discuss the bag I'm sure you've all seen the newest trend- PVC bags. Well, I can't get enough of the new trendy bag, I picked up an affordable version from Nordstrom. I'm eyeing a beautiful Chanel PVC bag but not sure if its worth the splurge. For now, I'm going to enjoy every bit of this BP. PVC Bag.

Chantecaille Spring 2018 Collection Review & Swatches

chantecaille 20 year anniversary palette review
Chantecaille Spring 2018 Collection

Spring has arrived and so has Chantecaille's new collection. I was able to test out the some of the products from the collection which includes:
chantecaille 20 year anniversary palette review and swatches
Chantecaille 20 Year Anniversary Eye Palette

Every year Chantecaille launches the most beautiful palettes and a percentage of the proceeds goes to reliable organizations. This year Chantecaille celebrates their 20th anniversary and this palette was created in honor of that. The anniversary release celebrates Chantecaille's natural ideal of beauty, and two conservation efforts particularly close to Sylvie's heart, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and The Lion Guardians.

Chantecaille 20 Year Anniversary Eye Palette retails for $85.00 for .42 oz. The eyeshadows are housed in a beautiful high gleam gold compact emblazoned with Sylvie's signature. There are two elephant embossed eyeshadows and two lions embossed eyeshadows to symbolize the two foundations.
  • Selenkey- Burnt Gold.
  • Gawa- muted pink.
  • Kamok- almond highlighter.
  • Nanu- soft taupe.
The texture of all four shadows is very creamy and soft to the touch and there wasn't a lot fall out from the shadows. At first glance, you'd think the shades would show up very shimmery and opaque but much to my surprise, it's quite the opposite. The shimmer is an overspray which will fade with each use leaving behind a satin finish. The shades are very subtle in color and pigmentation. I love how blendable these shadows are you don't need a lot of work. I like the fact that I can just use one shade and apply some mascara and Im done with my look which is what I do on most days. However, I must admit the lack of a matte transition color is to be noted. I have to use another palette to create some depth in my crease so it's definitely not an all-in-one palette. The shadows are also not very long wearing, it lasted about 5-6 hours before it started fading.

Kamok and Nanu Eye Shade Ingredients:
Talc, mica, dimethicone, octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, zea mays (corn) starch, zinc stearate, silica, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, potassium sorbate, chlorphenesin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, tin oxide, tetrasodium edta, alaria esculenta extract, acrylates/octylacrylamide copolymer, isostearyl alcohol [+/-: iron oxides (ci77491/ ci77492/ ci77499), titanium dioxide (ci77891), ultramarines (ci 77007), carmine (ci 75470), manganese violet (ci 77742) Ferric ferrocyanide (ci 77510), ferric ammonium ferrocyanide (ci 77510),yellow 5 lake (ci 19140),yellow 6 lake (ci 19140),blue 1 lake (ci 42090), red 6 (ci 15850), red 7 (ci 15850), red 7 lake (ci 15850), red 30 lake ( ci 73360), red 28 lake (ci 45410)]

Chantecaille Luster Glide Silk Infused Eye Liner
Chantecaille Jasper Luster Glide Silk Infused Eye Liner

Jasper retails for $30 for .04 oz. its a rich deep bronze shade with the prettiest shimmery finish. The hint of sparkle is very sophisticated it's not too overdone. The name speaks for itself this liner is very silky, glides on effortlessly and you can smudge this or do a winged liner whichever you prefer but the end result remains the same- phenomenal. This eyeliner truly compliments the eyeshadow palette together and it makes a beautiful combination. I love using this as a base for my shadows or to smoke out my lash line it gives a sultry smokey eye look. Jasper Silk Infused Liner is long-wearing, transfer-proof, paraben free, sulfate free, synthetic fragrance-free, synthetic dye free, mineral and palm oil free.

Chantecaille Philanthropy Cheek Shades Review and swatches
Chantecaille Philanthropy Cheek Shades

There are a total of six philanthropy cheek shades and it retails for $40 for .08 oz. I already own Elephant from a previous release and I truly adore that blush. All six shadows are coming back and they're here to stay! These blushes are embossed with conservation effort it supports, from Monarch butterflies to wild horses. The blushes are cased in an adorable pebble-like mirrored compact. It's formulated with finely milled pigments that contribute to exquisite colors and it has a featherweight texture. The texture is incredible, it's so easy to blend and the shades are perfect for everyday looks. Some might say these aren't highly pigmented but I believe Chantecaille is a brand that aims for a natural, simple yet put together looks. So with that being said, the pigmentation is just enough. You won't have to worry about overdoing it since you can never look overdone with these blushes. The shades range from light pinks to corals and it gives you a beautiful natural, flushed cheeks look.

Chantecaille Lip Chic Lip Color Swatches
Chantecaille Lip Chic Lip Color

Lip Chic retails for $38 for .07 oz is a revolutionary hybrid that combines the rich, even coverage of a lipstick with the high shine and plumping effect of a gloss. As I've mentioned in the past few posts, recently I've been reaching for more glosses and loving a satin finish lipstick more than a matte finish. So these lipsticks have been on rotate since I've gotten my hands on them. The consistency is ultra soft, creamy, hydrating, doesn't settle into the lines and it's very comfortable on the lips. The finish is not opaque it's a bit sheer but I don't mind it since I always line my lips with a lip liner prior to any lipstick application. It lasted about 3-4 hours before it started fading and it did leave a light stain behind. I think these three shades will look lovely on fair to medium skin tones.
Ingredients:
Polybutene, diisostearyl malate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, polyethylene, vp/hexadecene copolymer, microcrystalline wax (cera microcristallina), dicalcium phosphate, mica, ethyl vanillin, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, phospholipids, flavor (aroma), hyaluronic acid, saccarmonyces cerevisiae extract, sodium chondroitin sulfate, tocopherol, tripeptide-29, bht, tin oxide [+/-: iron oxides (ci 77491/ci 77492/ci 77499), titanium dioxide (ci 77891), red 6/red 6 lake/ red 7 lake (ci 15850), red 27/red 27 lake /red 28 lake (ci 45410), red 21 lake / red 22 lake (ci 45380), red 30 lake (ci 73360), red 33 lake (ci 17200), blue 1 lake (ci 42090), yellow 5 lake (ci 19140), yellow 6 lake (ci 15985), yellow 10 lake (ci 47005), manganese violet (ci 77742), bismuth oxychloride (ci 77163)] (limonene, citral)

Final Verdict:

I hope the swatches will give you an idea of the shades and finishes of the products. Let's start with the eyeshadow palette which I always look forward to but this year I wasn't impressed with the longevity and the performance of the shadows. I do like the formula but it's not up to par with some of Chantecaille's previous annual eyeshadow palettes. If you're someone who enjoys a sheer wash of color you'll love this eyeshadow palette. Also, the shades will work great for very fair to light skin tones. On my medium, to tan skin, I find it can be a bit hard to work with and that is why I have to use another palette to give it a bit dimension. I do however LOVE the eyeliner the quality is superb it's honestly one of the best performing eyeliner I've used thus far. The blushes and lipsticks are something worth checking out I know the Bee blush is very popular and it's sold out pretty much everywhere. My top picks are Jasper, Hyacinth, and Grace-Sea Turtle cheek shade.

I recently attended a very intimate Chantecaille event, we got to hear Sylvie speak about the brand. Her passion for the brand and how she gives back to the environment through the brand was very inspiring. I commend Chantecaille for thinking of the animals all while keeping their customers best interest in mind. I truly enjoyed learning so much about Chantecaille it was a remarkable experience.

Zara Bucket Bag

Hello! Switching gears today on Makeupwithmona. Six years ago when I started blogging I had a vision for my blog but for some reason, I decided to put a few things off and mostly focused on beauty here. I finally decided it's time for a switch and I want to incorporate things I enjoy. I will still be doing beauty reviews but along with that, I will be also sharing outfits, handbags, travel etc. I hope you'll enjoy this journey alongside me :)

Last Sunday it was my parent's wedding anniversary we all went out for dinner and this is what I wore to the dinner. I actually got inspired by my daughter's polka dot dress which I will link here. I wish they did the same exact dress for adults but nonetheless, I found something similar and I absolutely love the dress! It's very comfortable and stretchy so I would suggest going down a size unless you want an oversize dress look. I paired the dress with a basket bag it's from Zara's last years summer collection but I found a bag that looks exactly like this one here. I wore my favorite white mules which I also picked up last year, however, I found something very similar and it's pretty affordable here. It's still chilly here in New York, so I went for my favorite camel coat. For makeup, I used two BH Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes, which I've been testing for a while and I will be reviewing them soon.
