Hair Talk: 5 Best Hair Products

Five Best Hair Products

As I was dousing my hair with Verb Leave-In Mist and Briogeo Volumizing Spray it dawned upon me, I should discuss about my favorite hair care products! So here I am, sharing five hair products that I've been using for months and I love each and every one of them. When it comes to hair I don't do much, I'm mostly a wash and go type of gal. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy a good blowout but I just don't have the time nor the patient to blow dry my medium length hair everyday. So therefore I found some products that works pretty well on my frizzy hair with oily scalp and dry ends. These hair products are tried and tested, I use most of them on a daily basis. So lets begin!
  1. Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt $52.00 for 250 ml
  2. Rita Hazan Ultimate Shine Clear Gloss $26.00 for 5 oz
  3. Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Blow Dry Spray $20.00 for 5 oz
  4. Verb Leave-In Mist $14.00 for 8 oz
  5. Living Prood Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment $27.00 for 4 oz
Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt

Sephora's Description:
A moisturizing shampoo formula enriched with sea salt to cleanse and soothe sensitive or oily scalps while delivering essential hydration. The scalp reaches an ideal level of hydration within 24 hours and all irritating sensations are significantly reduced. These measured effects are felt immediately and can last for up to four days. This purifying, moisturizing, and soothing scrub is ideal as a detox treatment to cleanse and rebalance sensitive or oily scalps, but also as a post-coloring treatment to relieve stinging and itchiness and remove chemical residues left on the scalp. This paste is enriched with a 100 percent plant-derived agent, which offers deep and long-lasting hydration even after rinsing. The scalp is soothed, rebalanced, and healthy while the hair is left shiny and completely clean.

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt

Christophe Robin started his career at the age of 15, by the time he was 24 he had his own salon in a small courtyard off rue du Mont Thabor. He worked with many supermodels, actresses, by 1999 he launched his own hair care line for colored and sensitive hair. He now own a beautiful luxurious salon, along with a lovely growing hair care line. Last year, I went on a hunt for a good clarifying shampoo that's when I came across this Purifying Scrub. This great gold medal winning Cleansing Purifying Scrub is housed in a plastic tub with twist cap. It contains sea salt which is a natural exfoliant, another key ingredient is sweet-almond oil which helps sealing moisture, sooth your scalp, it also help adding shine to dull dry hair. The texture is thick and chunky cause of the sea salt so it take some time getting used to. This gets rid of all the build ups, balanced out my greasy roots and left my hair squeaky clean. This scrub smells divine and you only need a teaspoon of this, add a little bit of water and it creates a nice rich lather. I highly recommend using a good conditioner after using this shampoo, as it can be a bit drying for the ends of your hair. I use this shampoo no more than 3 to 4 times a month, using this regularly might make your hair rough. Its silicon, colorants, Parabens and phthalates free however it does contain sulfate. This shampoo is also great for color treated hair, it help preserve color and it will leave your hair clean, soft, bouncy and shiny!

Rita Hazan Ultimate Shine Clear Gloss

Rita Hazan is a well known colorist/artist, she worked with many celebrities like Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez to name a few. The master hair colorist owns a eponymous hair salon on 5th Ave, she also developed a great hair care line. The Ultimate Shine Gloss comes in five different options:

  1. Clear- Its a universal shine enhancing gloss, it revives color & it enhances shine for all hair shades.
  2. Blond-  Illuminates and brightens all blond hues, it revives color & enhances shine for golden blond & highlights.
  3. Breaking Brass- It breaks down brassy tones and orange hues in blonds and brunettes while eliminating yellow from grays. It revives color & enhances shine, prevents brassiness.
  4. Brown- It adds subtle richness and depth to all brown hair tones, it revives color & enhances shine for all brown tones.
  5. Red- It boosts auburns and it revives color & enhances shine for all red tones.

I wanted something for my dull hair, something that will give my hair the shiny glossy look I've always desired. I was sold after using this for the first time, it left my hair silky smooth like a conditioner would and after a good blow out my hair was left super shiny! The consistency of this gloss is foamy and it does have a strong scent, which I'm not a big fan of but it dissipates quickly. After washing your hair you apply this to your hair and leave it on for 3-5 min, then you wash it off and follow with conditioner. I use this 1-2 a week, it doesn't weigh my hair down and it gives my hair a beautiful shine that lasts for up to three days. This product is parabens, sulfates, ammonia and peroxide free.

Verb Leave-In Mist, Briogeo Blossom&Bloom Ginseng+Biotin Volumizer Spray, Living Proof 5-in-1

I use these three products after I wash my hair, sometimes I rotate between the Verb Leave-In Mist and the Living Proof 5-in-1 styling treatment. If you have hair like mine that gets tangled easily and very hard to manage then you will find these three products very helpful.

  • Verb Leave-In Mist- This incredible affordable product came in a value set $36.00 (Here). It came with Hydrating Shampoo .065 oz, Hydrating Conditioner .065 oz, Dry Shampoo 2 oz, Leave-In Mist 8 oz and Sea Spray 6.3 oz. So far the Leave-In Mist came out as a winner out of all the products. Verb Leave-In Mist is housed in a plastic bottle with a spray nozzle applicator, the texture feels just like any other conditioner and it smells amazing! This is a essential step between washing and styling and its gentle enough for kids hair as well. Its free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, its cruelty free and gluten free. This helps detangles, moisturizing, tames frizzy hair, repairs split ends, adds shine and protects hair from heat. I use this on my towel dried hair I focus on the ends of my hair and work my way up to the midshaft. I don't have any split ends so I can't vouch for that however it does everything, as it says on the bottle. This is honestly a great product and you can't beat the price.

  • Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment- I discovered this product last year while I was vacationing in Hawaii. My hair needed some TLC after all the pool and beach time, I ran to the nearest Sephora and I was directed toward this along with a mask that didn't make it to this list. Sometimes I skip conditioner and use this as a leave-in conditioner, it smells pleasant, it softens my hair, adds volume, smooth out my frizzy hair and overall makes my hair look and feel good. The days I decide to air dry my hair I go for this one cause it basically does everything it says just like the Verb Leave-In Mist. This Styling Treatment is formulated without sulfates, parabens and phthalates, it provides heat protection, UV protection and static control. The only thing I dislike about this product is the packaging, the product builds up and it gets jammed, hope they repackage this 5-in-1 Perfect Hair Styling Treatment. This is one product that I will always repurchase its definitely one of my Must-Have.

  • Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng+Biotin Volumizer Spray- If you stayed with me this far, then you know my goal for my hair is: clean scalp, shiny hair and bouncy voluminous hair. I received a deluxe sample of this Volumizing spray from Sephora last year and I've been hooked ever since! This Volumizer Spray comes in a plastic bottle with spray nozzle applicator, It smells so good that sometimes I get carried away and spray a lot more than I need to. Its formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, its vegan-friendly, gluten free, it's also dye and silicone free. Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng+Biotin Volumizer Spray contains Maltodextrin (sugar volumizer), Biotin which helps strengthens hair follicle and the hair shaft, Lemon and Witch Hazel Extract that acts as clarifying agent and it absorbs excess oil which allows to extend time between washes. It also contains Ginseng and Ginger Root and it helps with natural blood flow to the scalp which promotes hair growth. I spray this on my damp hair and I noticed, this adds volume to my hair and my hair looks thicker even when I let my hair air dry. Another thing I love about this products is, there is no residue or build up and one bottle will last you for months.

I hope you enjoyed this Hair-Talk, some of the products have been repackaged since then but the formula still remains the same. I'm currently on the hunt for good hair masks If you have any suggestions, please leave a comment below I would love to try them out.

Application Tip
I started using Glow Tonic about two months ago, the first month I only used it during my pm routine. I gradually worked up to twice a day. sometimes I skip it during my morning routine depending on how my skin is feeling. I use my favorite Shiseido cotton pads, saturate the cotton pad then sweep it across my face and neck twice. Then I wait about 5 minutes before I apply serum, moisturizer, and all that good stuff.

As long as I can remember, I never cared for a toner mostly because the ones I tried didn't work for me. Well, that was before I came across this gem called Glow Tonic! I've heard nothing but great things about this product, it has been raved by many British bloggers before it hit the states. What I love about Glow Tonic is that its alcohol-free, oil-free, doesn't strip out all the natural oils. The color of Glow Tonic is so unique it's a bright peachy orangey shade which comes from the red ginseng. The fragrance of this tonic is quite pleasant, It smells like a fresh flower and it disappears very quickly.  This toner contains 5% Glycolic Acid, which is AHA derived from sugar canes. It helps with fine lines, exfoliating, brightening skin, preventing acne and removing blackheads. Aloe Vera is the second ingredient that's listed on the bottle, which means that there is quite of bit of it in there. Aloe Vera helps moisturize, have anti-inflammatory properties and it softens the skin. It also contains witch hazel which tones and firms the skin and all sorts of other good stuff like red ginseng, horse chestnut seed extract that will make your skin healthier and brighter.

Overall
Pixi Glow Tonic is a must for me! I always thought I didn't need a toner but boy was I wrong. I had these tiny little bumps on my skin and because of those bumps, my makeup didn't apply evenly. After two months of Glow Tonic my skin has cleared up a lot, I don't breakout as much as I used to, it also helped reduce redness. This product pretty much changed my skin in an overall positive way, its good for both oily and dry skin. If you want clear skin, then you must try The Pixi Glow Tonic. Glow Tonic comes in three different sizes: 15 ml, 100 ml, and 250 ml. I love that they have different sizes to choose from so you can try out the small bottle before committing to a bigger bottle. The only con about Glow Tonic is, it's so hard to find in stores. I'm currently hoarding a few of the 100 ml bottles, but once I run out I'm going for the 250 ml!

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation Review

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation
Price $53.00 for 1fl. oz.
Where To Purchase: Sephora, Nordstrom

Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation
A precursor in the art of natural, Dior innovates and broadens its nude makeup expertise with Diorskin Nude Air: a weightless, ultra-fluid serum as light and beneficial as a breath of fresh air, for an enhanced complexion with sheer correction. Like after a day in the great outdoors, the complexion has all the fresh, radiant beauty of a natural healthy glow.

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation

Last year, I went on a hunt for a light weight foundation that will give me just enough coverage but still remain light and airy on my skin. I think I found it! Since I took a long break from blogging, I didn't get to review this last year but better late than never. Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation is talc free, formulated with SPF 25 and infused with skincare benefits. The packaging is really luxe, the foundation is housed in a thick transparent glass bottle and it comes with a dropper pump. Dior Nude Air Serum have a strong floral scent. I'm not a big fan of the fragrance but after a few minutes, the scent does fade away. There are total of eight shades.

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation
  1. 010 Ivory
  2. 020 Light Beige
  3. 021 Linen
  4. 023 Peach
  5. 030 Medium Beige
  6. 040 Honey Beige
  7. 050 Dark Beige
  8. 060 Mocha

The shade range is very limited, which made it very hard to find a good match. I won't say I found a good match because the shade (040 Honey Beige)  I purchased is little too orangeish. The shade 30 is too light for me so I had to settle with 40.

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation

Application Tip
Before using this foundation make sure to shake the bottle really well. I use a foundation brush but you can use your fingers as well to apply this foundation.

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation

The texture of this foundation is very light and runny, it almost feels like a serum/oil. The coverage is very sheer, if you're looking for a medium to full coverage foundation this is not the foundation for you. One of the main reason, I like this foundation cause its so light it feels like skin! This foundation feels so silky on the skin and it dries down to a semi matte finish. I have large pores and it blurred them out a bit, balanced out the redness on my cheeks and evened out my skin. I also noticed this foundation tends to emphasize on dry flaky patches. I have oily t-zone but my cheeks are very dry, and I have to make sure I prep my skin well before applying this foundation. I always set my foundation with a powder and I noticed I started getting dewy after 2-3 hours of wear. The staying powder is good, I got 6-7 hours of wear.

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation

Overall
As you can see the Dior Nude Air Serum is a bit orangeish, so the color range is a big issue when it comes to this foundation. I wouldn't recommend this foundation for dry, textured skin, however this will be a ideal foundation for those who have oily skin. Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation contains quite bit of silicone, hence the smooth powdery finish. So if you have sensitive skin keep this in mind but it didn't cause any breakouts for me also this foundation did oxidize slightly. In conclusion this is a good everyday foundation, doesn't look cakey, photographs well and I will repurchase it once I run out. Did you purchase Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation? If so, please let me know what are your thoughts on this foundation in a comment below.

The Estee Edit By Estee Lauder The Barest Blush Ember Glow

Estee Lauder is no longer for our moms! The new Estee Edit line is targeted toward younger consumers. The spokesmodel is Kendall Jenner and Street Style It girl Irene Kim, she's a beauty influencer from Korea. They launched their collection back in March 2016 and its exclusively available in Sephora online and stores. Out of all the products from this line the first thing I noticed was Ember Glow Blush. This is my shade! I'm not into pink blushes so this shade is right up my alley. The packaging is not what I expected it looks fine from afar but once I brought it home, I noticed the pan is not glued in securely. Its loose I thought it was going to fall right out of the compact but so far its still intact so we shall see.

The Estee Edit By Estee Lauder The Barest Blush Ember Glow

Ember Glow is a rusty warm bronzey shade with a hint of rosy undertone. I feel like this shade will show up different depending on your skin tone. This blush is called the Barest Blush because its supposed to give you a light flush of color. Its infused with micronized pigments and sunflower seed oil and its decorated with a metallic overspray. The shimmer overspray will fade away as you use the blush, the texture is soft, light and a little bit of powdery. When you swirl a brush on the blush it kicks up just a little bit of access product. This blush swatched beautifully however once I applied it on my cheeks it didn't adhere to the skin very well. This happened for the first few times I used this blush but after I kind of broke in (like you'd do with a new shoe haha) it applied evenly, blended easily. Ember Glow is very pigmented and once the shimmer spray wears off you end up with a matte finish. I got 6-7 hours of wear before it started to fade. Lets look at some closeup of Ember Glow.

Overall
This is a beautiful blush but the packaging is a let down, you shouldn't have to worry about your blush pan falling out of the compact any minute. Ember Glow is a perfect blush for those who aren't into pink blushes like myself. I just hope before they launch the next collection, they'll improve the packaging of the compacts.
