Smashbox Ablaze Cover Shot Eye Palette

Product Info:
A collection of seven portable palettes, inspired by trends seen at the studio—from matte to metallic to bold. These purse-sized Cover Shot: Eye Palettes swipe on highly pigmented, beyond blendable color for endless eye looks. Smashbox popped in two bigger base shades so you won’t run out of basics before you’ve used all the high-impact accent colors. The star of Smashbox's Cover Shots campaign is actress and social media powerhouse Shay Mitchell. Inspired by the distinct vibes of the palettes, Smashbox worked with Shay to create a unique personality for each one. Think: seven palettes and seven shades of Shay. Channel her style or mix shadows to get your own individual look.

This go-anywhere palette has been edited to include only the most coveted shades. Each travel-size palette is 0.27 oz/ 7.65 g (4.46W x 2.44D x 0.45H).

Smashbox Ablaze Cover Shot Eye Palette

Ablaze (hot, desert-inspired shades): With shades in rich red clay and hot terra cotta, this palette captures the warmth of the desert in a range of sun-drenched shades—these dimensional pigments are perfect for adding depth and contouring.

Smashbox Ablaze Cover Shot Eye Palette

A few weeks ago Smashbox launched Seven new Cover Shot Eye Palettes and I'm totally loving the look of these palettes. Let's admire that packaging for a moment, I think Smashbox has outdone themselves with the packaging. The palette is very compact and thin yet sturdy which makes this palette very travel-friendly. There is a large mirror inside the palette and a stunning holographic image on the front. I picked up Ablaze, the shades in this palette are right up my alley. It's a mix of four mattes and four shimmer shadows, the pans are large enough for a shadow brush. Smashbox claimed the formula to be "highly pigmented" and "beyond blendable color" I found the shimmer shadows were very pigmented, blendable and the consistency felt smooth and buttery. However, the matte shadows were a bit powdery specially Nirvana but it didn't lack in pigmentation and it blended out seamlessly. There were some fall outs which tend to happen with powdery shadows but it didn't effect the overall performance of these shadows. All seven shadows lasted all day without any creasing or fading.

Overall
I believe this is my very first Eyeshadow palette from Smashbox and I'm very happy with my purchase. It's very affordable and the quality is definitely up to par with some of the other brands Sephora carries. I believe Ablaze was the first palette to sell out very quickly it's still going in and out of stock. I would say this one is the hit palette out of all seven palettes and I can see why the rich desert shades will catch any neutral shadow lovers eyes. One thing I loved the most about this palette is the two big basic shadow pans they did cause those shades are the first to hit pan so that was a great idea. I'm absolutely loving this palette I think it will be flattering on most skin tones. This palette gets a huge thumbs up from me and another one I recommend is Golden Hour which is next on my wish list.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
